In the 1987 model year, the Porsche 911 Carrera was updated with a more powerful engine and an improved 5-speed G50 manual gearbox. This 1987 Porsche Carrera Cabriolet comes finished in Black with a new matching manual convertible soft top and boot over a Cashmere Beige leather interior. Details include a classic rear wing, an aftermarket Kenwood stereo, and 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels. This Carrera Cabriolet is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.

This Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Black (A1) with a new matching convertible soft top and boot cover. Exterior details include fog lights, impact bumpers, rear "Carrera" script, a whale tail spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. It rides on 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels dressed in Sumitomo HTR All Season P01 tires from 2011. The seller notes some minor paint blemishes on the hood and front bumper. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.

The interior is upholstered in Cashmere Beige leather. Details include a contrasting black dashboard and carpeting, an aftermarket Kenwood stereo, power windows, manually operated seats, and a 4-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. The seller notes that the tachometer occasionally sticks upon startup, although all gauges, electronics, and accessories work properly.

This Carrera Cabriolet is equipped with an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine that sends as much as 217 HP and 195 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a desirable 5-speed G50 manual transmission. The seller states that they performed a fluid service upon their recent acquisition of the car. Additionally, the CARFAX report shows a total of 9 service history entries.

This sale will include a clean title. The CARFAX report shows a potential mileage discrepancy in October 2009.

How much is the title tax in GA? Is sales tax applicable in GA for cars over 30 years old?

  • ponyup (seller) 7 monthsago

@ponyup @Mrs17... didn't mean to hit send yet! We are only required to collect Title Tax if the buyer resides in GA and we are completing the title and registration for the buyer. If you are out of State, we do not collect any taxes on the transaction. We will prepare the title for you to take to your local DMV for title processing and registration. Hope this is helpful.

Do you have to pay GA sales tax if you ship it? I think Some states don’t require sales tax if you don’t take possession in that state.

@ponyup ahhh I misread the listing. When I saw “… updated with a more powerful engine…” I thought it implied a new engine whereas you were talking about the model year improvement. My error…

  • ponyup (seller) 7 monthsago

@sadedon Not sure why you think the engine is not original? This was never stated in our listing

  • sadedon (registered bidder) 7 monthsago

Assuming original engine is long gone and what was the reason for the swap?
