For the 1987 model year, the Porsche 911 Carrera was updated with a more powerful engine and a revised 5-speed G50 manual gearbox. This 1987 Carrera Cabriolet is finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior and a matching soft top. This example features an optional central locking system, 16” Fuchs wheels, an electric soft top, and more. This 911 was previously listed on PCARMARKET in 2023 and has since undergone major service including valve adjustments, new spark plugs, A/C maintenance, and an engine compression test. This Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing just over 54k miles on the odometer.
Finished in Guards Red, this Cabriolet features a black convertible soft top and Turbo-spec 16” Fuchs wheels measuring 7" wide in front and 9" wide in the rear. Equipment includes fog lights, impact bumpers, rear “Carrera” script, and dual exhaust outlets. The seller notes a couple of small touch-up spots behind the driver’s door and states that the convertible top, wheels, and tires all appear to be newer. Detailed images are provided along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents black leather upholstery, an 8-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, a central locking system, power windows, an alarm system, and automatic speed control. The seller adds that an upgraded stereo has been fitted and all gauges and accessories are working properly.
The 1987 Carrera is powered by an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine that produces as much as 217 HP and 195 lb.-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. Recent service is said to include valve adjustments, new spark plugs, a new distributor cap, an oil and filter change, A/C system service, and an engine compression test with cylinder (#) and PSI results posted below:
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a spare tire, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This cab has a great eye appeal. Ready to drive and enjoy with low miles and good service.”

@Bulletproofauto front hood has been painted (big surprise) and the passenger door has had some paintwork with some blending. Color match is dead on.

@Wuzzer it was so great meeting you and also realizing we have many mutual friends. I look forward to many fun times ahead!
I had the pleasure of meeting the owner and taking a look at the vehicle in person last week. It's even more beautiful in person and is definitely a driver's car for the next owner to fully enjoy.
Very nice example. Looks to be well kept.
@jbauto sorry no top boot.
These cars give so much value for the $$$. Purchased a similar cab about 6 months ago, my first air cooled 911, have had pretty much all of the newer water cooled generations. All I can say is the G50 cab is my favorite, hands down.. Potential buyer better be ready for lots of "thumbs ups" from strangers drooling over the car. They could care less when driving my 991.2 Turbo or GT3. Air cooled for the win.
Is there a top Tonneau Boot cover?

@777miller good morning!!
Convertible top works very smoothly. Both up and down. I will see about a video. The auction ends Monday. And it's my wife's birthday weekend and Easter.
The wheels are turbo (930) Fuchs. So they are 16x7 and 16x9. Which gives the car a much nicer stance.
Thank you for your interest ☺️
Any issues with the convertible top? It appears to not lay evenly when opened. Could you provide video of top opening and closing?
Can you confirm wheel sizes. Original equip says 6"/7" and you say 7"/9". Have they been replaced?
thanks for your time
@CurtGT3RS ill get date codes. Fronts are newer than rears.
Zero smoke car
What are the date codes on the tires? Any smell of smoke in the car?

Hello everyone and welcome to the auction. I'm here to help with any questions you may have. Happy bidding!
@Billythemountain good morning. Thank you for the kind words. They are so much fun to drives. You sure could have some fun tuning this one. It already has the Turbo Fuchs!
'87-89 best gen 911s ever made, they're bulletproof and easily good for 200k+ miles, so this one seems quite young. They're even better if you remove the cat (dunno if allowed in Cali) like I did on my '89. However, it's rather clear this car does not have a dual exhaust. Else, GLWTS!
