The 1987 Porsche 911 received notable updates including a more powerful 3.2-liter flat-six engine and a refined new 5-speed G50 manual transmission. This 1987 Carrera Coupe comes finished in Grand Prix White over a Burgundy leather interior. It was factory-optioned with 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels with body-colored centers, front & rear spoilers, an electric sunroof, and a 40% locking differential. Reportedly owned by two previous owners, this Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California while showing approximately 51k miles on the odometer.

This 911 is finished in Grand Prix White (L908) and features optional front & rear spoilers, 16” Fuchs forged alloy wheels with body-colored centers, and an electric sunroof. It rides on like-new Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 tires. The seller notes the sunroof was rebuilt and describes the exterior as remaining in near-perfect original condition. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is upholstered with Burgundy (LX) leather upholstery while matching Porsche-lettered carpets line the floor. Other factory equipment includes an electrically height-adjustable driver’s seat, power windows, heated and power adjustable mirrors, air conditioning, and an optional Blaupunkt Charleston SQR 26 cassette radio. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

Power is derived from an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine, generating as much as 217 HP and 195 lb.-ft of torque stock. The rear wheels are driven through a desirable 5-speed G50 manual transmission. Stopping is provided by fixed 2-piston brakes and ventilated discs. The seller notes that the engine has undergone refurbishment, including rebuilt cylinder heads and re-ringed pistons, a comprehensive engine reseal, and the installation of an updated clutch. Furthermore, the air conditioning system has been recently recharged. Service records are provided for reference in the gallery.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, sales literature, a spare tire, a toolkit, and an air pump.

The seller would like you to know: “Simply one of the best G50 coupes I've been around. Pampered and fully serviced. Just drive and enjoy!”

I had an '87 that was cashmere beige and that interior. My favorite 911 that I have owned. I have tried to find it, but have not been able to... this is a lovely car... best of luck!

    @MidOH911 good morning

I bought the car through a friend in PA and brought it out here. The car was always garaged and pampered as you can see in the photos.

I do not have a COA as it retains both its original options code stickers show all options. Which are in the gallery.

  • MidOH911 (registered bidder) 4 days, 11 hoursago

    Hi-
Congratulations on this beautiful example. Are there any details available regarding the car moving from PA to CA before this sale? Do you have a COA or equivalent?
    Thanks

@pilsen sorry for the tardy reply. I wasn't with the car.

Not only does the stereo work amazing the original deck plays sound through legendary ADS 320i components in the doors and Boston Acoustics 6.5 in in the rear parcel shelf. It sounds amazing. Almost as amazing as the fresh 3.2 liter sound system ;)

@jjmonte I asked them to post the engine number. More importantly you'll see the VIN stickers on the engine and transmission showing them numbers matching.

We has the top end rebuilt because the car was hardly driven by the previous owner heading to lower compression on 2 cylinders. Which ended up being caused by slightly failing exhaust guides (which is extremely common on 3.2 liter engines. Also decided to re ring the motor and put new case studs. Do the job right the first time!

And having a clutch replaced at 40k plus miles is not abnormal.

This car lived a very charmed life and NEVER tracked.

I do not have a leak down test as the engine was just freshly rebuilt. If you require the test to be done I can see if I can get it done for you..

I'll see if I have the seat photo you're requesting if not I'll get it.

Thank you in advance for your interest

  • jjmonte (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Hi. Didn’t see an engine number amongst the engine detail pics. Why so much engine and clutch work with such low miles? Has the car been tracked?
Leak down (not compression) numbers available?
Also do you have a straight on shot of the driver’ seat?
    Thank you.

@tff good morning and thank you for your interest.

What you're seeing is glue that was used to adhere the rubber bits. It turns kind of a brownish color. And the rubber shrinks exposing it.

  • Bergman 1 week, 3 daysago

    Is this a 915 or G50 gearbox?

  • tff (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

Can the seller provide a photo of the options sticker with the options in focus. Would be nice to verify what the factory options on the car are. Thank you.

  • tff (registered bidder) 1 week, 3 daysago

The Grand Prix White and Burgundy combo looks very nice.
Can the seller confirm whether the rust-colored spots/areas in slides 88, 109, 114, 128 (under upper edge of opening) are indeed rust or something else? Thanks.
