Now available for auction is this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe finished in Black over a Burgundy partial leather interior. In addition to the desirable color combination and facotry spoilers, this 1987 example marks the inaugural model year for the desirable G50 5-speed manual gearbox. A major service was recently carried out in preparation for sale which included an overhaul of the brakes, new axle boots, new tires, new drive belts, spark plugs, a valve adjustment, and more. Currently showing just over 39k miles on the odometer, this well-preserved Carrera is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
The Black paint on this example is said to be all-original and in great condition aside from some minor chips and cosmetic imperfections. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX. Factory front and rear spoilers have been retained along with 16" Fuchs wheels which were recently dressed in a brand-new set of General G-Max tires.
Inside, you will find an attractive Burgundy interior with partial leather seats. The speakers and radio have been upgraded and an amplifier has been installed in the trunk. The driver’s side seat bolster has been professionally refinished and the seller notes general sings of wear and a small split located on the headliner toward the passenger side of the sunroof. Factory options specified for this example incldue an intensified windscreen washer, headlamp washers, cruise control, an alarm system, and a sunroof.
This Carrera derives up to 217 HP from an air-cooled 3.2 L flat-six engine paired with a desirable G50 5-speed manual gearbox. A recent major service was carried out at the hands of a certified Porsche Classic technician which included a valve adjustment, new valve cover gaskets, drive belts, spark plugs, parking brake service, new axle boots, hood struts, a steering shaft bushing, and new brake pads and calipers all around. A corresponding repair order is provided in the photo gallery.
This sale will include one key, books and a clean title.

@tkbrady Mercedes dealer had to make an error inputting it on their system. Common issue. From what we were told the car was one family owned. Passed between one family member to another. The registration did take place in Montana there after. The car could have came in from a New York dealer originally. Car is true to be as clean as it is - you don’t see many this clean!

Wondering why Carfax shows 39,850 miles in May, 2020 and odometer shows 39,715 a year later? The Carfax report seems to indicate many owners of many states. Just trying to reconcile the mileage.
@NickW21 happy to answer any questions! This is a very clean all original paint car. We were informed it was a one family owned vehicle that was used as a weekend driver and always cared for. When we got the car we performed anything that was needed by time or wear. Our tech has worked on 911’s specifically air cooled for 37 years. The car in our ownership has been driven many times and party wanted to be retained in our own collection as finding one this good is extremely hard to come by. Anyone who gets this car will have miles of smiles and would be a great first air cooled or a great asset to a collection!
Seems like there were either 4 or 5 owners of this car. Can @ryangfriedman confirm? How frequently has the car been driven lately? It's hard to tell if it's just sitting at a dealership at the moment or actively owned and being driven.

With my eyes focused on the rapidly approaching turn ahead and the sound of the air-cooled engine roaring behind me, I don't think I'll be too concerned with the color of the dash and door cards. :) Good looking 911. GLWS
All original paint, wonderful!
Never been a fan of burgundy interiors color seem to wash out but with the black exterior I think is looks great GLWA
Interior is the best part!
@NickW21 I really like the red interior contrast.
@NickW21 back then nobody buying 911s thought about resale. The orders for 1989 Speedsters was the first time I ever saw people be picky on selections with flipping in mind. The beginning of the end in someways.
Bid in the amount of $30,000
I believe first month of production for the g50 cars. Build quality on the 87-89 Carreras was stunningly good. These were great right out of the box. Wrenching on these at the dealer was a delight because you finally had large enough AC vents for cooling off the insides on your quality control test drive to the Dairy Queen. GLWS
Beauty! However, whoever chose the red interior was likely not thinking about resale... lol. Not the best color choice out there. Love the sound of the car, though. GLWTA!
Wow!! This is stunning!
A G 50 series 1989 with 111k miles visually very similar to this one sold last week on BaT for 82k. Wonder where this one will land?
