Available for auction is this 1987 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe finished in the rare and desirable combination of Cassis Red Metallic over a Burgundy interior.  Marking the inaugural model year for the desirable G50 manual gearbox, this 1987 was originally delivered in the U.S. before eventually making its way to Canada in 2003.  Having since undergone a full engine rebuild by Pfaff Porsche within the last 12k miles, this Carrera is now being offered by its seller in Toronto with approximately 75k miles showing on the odometer (TMU).

The rarely seen Cassis Red Metallic finish shows only minimal imperfections and the seller reports that the passenger front fender was refinished prior to their ownership. Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a damage-free CARFAX. Exterior features include a front spoiler, fog lights, black stone guards, and 16” Fuchs wheels with paint-matched centers.

Inside, you will find a well-kept Burgundy interior with an upgraded MOMO Prototipo steering wheel and an aftermarket radio.  The original steering wheel is included in the sale and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.  The sunroof seal is recommended for replacement and CARFAX shows a potential mileage discrepancy which is believed to have likely been the result of clerical errors made during milage conversions.

This Carrera is equipped with a 3.2 L flat-six engine that sends up to 217 HP to the rear wheels through a sought-after G50 5-speed manual gearbox.  The engine is said to have been completely rebuilt by Pfaff Porsche within the last 12k miles and routine oil and filter changes have been addressed throughout the current ownership.

This sale will include a clean title, service records, and the original steering wheel.  With its impeccable color combination, desirable gearbox, and recent engine rebuild, this 911 is not to be overlooked.

@ALupton The leak is very minor, however it is a very nominal thing to replace and can be done on the next oil change or minor servicing. There is no water damage from the leak as the car hasn't been driven in bad weather

Regarding the sunroof, you say the seal needs to be replaced. How bad is the leak, if any?
    Thx

@C.Roche All the original equipment is on the engine. There is a document in the photo session from Pfaff Porsche outlining all the parts that were replaced in the rebuild. FYI Pfaff is the biggest dealership in North America in terms of volume and has a dedicated vintage department. I hope this helps

  • C.Roche (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Do you know if the smog equipment remains on the engine?( Very strict emission tests in my state.) Also I know you mentioned the engine was rebuilt approx. 10k miles ago. Is there paperwork on this ? Thank you, Craig

@C.Roche My only explanation is possible confusion between miles on the car and kilometer conversion. I believe past reports were both in miles at different points in kilometers . In other words an oversight at the ministry. The car was originally from the US and is now in Canada

  • C.Roche (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Sorry if I missed clarification of the potential odometer reading accuracy. I see in the Carfax between 2004 and 2005 the odometer reading went down approximately 30 k. Do you know the explanation for this? Many thanks, Craig

  • philmor (seller) 3 yearsago

@FormoRaro I was told by Pfaff Porsche that the car had original paint when I bought the car, except on the passenger side front fender.

  • FormoRaro (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

@philmor no need to scramble if you don’t have a body// shop complete readings. I see the records and body appears straight as drivers example.

  • MidOH911 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Can you confirm that a US buyer will need to pay the US import tax in order to bring the car into the US?

  • philmor (seller) 3 yearsago

    Hi FormoRaro
I don’t have a compression test or paint meter readings. I’ll see what I can do with the limited time left.

  • FormoRaro (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Philmor she looks like a clean drivers example! Can you post paint meter and cylinder compression ? Thanks!

Hi Seanmo, this car has been in the DRT 2020 in Miami and I kept the car down there for the winter season of 2020, however there is another dude in Miami that also has a Cassis Red Carrera. My car is the only one with painted rims. Missing Miami

@philmor Monday later afternoon? Why don't we take this to DMs? If instagram works for you @theaircooledclub

  • philmor (seller) 3 yearsago

@mimo5000 Yes, I would be happy to show the car in person. When are you available?

  • mimo5000 (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

What a beautiful color combo! Are you available for local showings? I'm in Toronto.

  • philmor (seller) 3 yearsago

Hi Roma, there is zero rust on this car. As mentioned I bought it from a reputable Porsche dealer Pfaff and they got the car from a long term customer/collector. I don't believe this car has ever seen bad weather or been left outside over night. It still has original paint on all panels other than the passenger side front fender. I don't know why that fender was repainted in the past, but this was revealed to me when I bought it.

  • Roma (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Lovely automobile. Would the Seller plz comment on any rust affecting the vehicle? THX

  • philmor (seller) 3 yearsago

I believe the milage on the odometer is correct in actual miles. The car resides in Canada where milage is measure in Kilo meters. Based on the records I have it looks like reports have been in KM and Miles. Keep in mind Pfaff Porsche did a full rebuilt just over 10k miles ago

  • noahkl (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

Great color and love the matching Fuchs! Gotta get some info posted on the mileage... Go through those service invoices and try to piece together what the mileage actually may be.

HI mbaum. This is a numbers matching car. I had the fan painted during my ownership. I'll look into the Fuchs to see if they were like that originally. I suspect they were as the patina on the crests look correct. I will search for and old school CoA and post it if there is something.

  • philmor (seller) 3 yearsago

Hello everybody. Thank you for checking out my 1987 Carrera. I have owned this car for just shy of 3 years and have loved every minute of it. I bought it from Pfaff Porsche in Toronto with a rebuilt engine from them. Since then I have build a small collection and sadly its time to move on into other Porsche adventures. This car has been amazing in every way. I look forward to hearing comments and questions about this beauty and I will do my best to answer questions in a timely and informed manner

  • mbaum (registered bidder) 3 yearsago

One of my favorite colors. Love the condition. I assume that this is all numbers matching? And are the color-coded Fuchs correct (Did not decode the option sticker and would love to see an old-school CoA if available). The cassis fan shroud would have to go though. Lovely car. GLWS.
