Now available for auction is this 1987 Porsche 930 Turbo Coupe finished in Silver Metallic over a black partial leather interior.  A true sports car icon of the 1980s, this 930 is legendary for its wide fenders, distinctive rear spoiler, and visceral turbocharged rear-wheel-drive performance.  This 1987 example is reported to have been cared for by the original owner and his son before it was purchased from Stoddard Porsche by the current owner in 2006.  It features a factory-equipped limited-slip differential as well as aftermarket Speedline-style Cup wheels.  With some considerable service items addressed under the current ownership, this 930 is now being offered for auction out of Missouri while showing just over 22k miles on the odometer.

This 930 is finished in its factory-specified color of Silver Metallic.  A few cosmetic imperfections are noted on the lower front valence as well as some paint chips on the hood and passenger side front fender.  Detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  Exterior features include wide fenders, black rear stone guards, a front air dam, front fog lights, and an iconic Tea Tray rear spoiler.  This 930 rides on aftermarket 17” Speedline-style Cup wheels that are said to have been dressed in new Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires within the last year.  A new OEM rubber front bumper insert will be included in the sale as well.

Inside, you will find a well-preserved black partial leather interior with power-operated seats.  An aftermarket radio has been installed along with upgraded door speakers.  The analog clock was refurbished in the last year and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be working properly, although it should be noted that the A/C has not been used in several years.

This 930 is equipped with an air-cooled 3.3L flat-six turbocharged engine capable of producing up to 282 HP and 289 lb.-ft of torque.  The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission with a factory optioned limited-slip differential.  Routine annual oil changes are said to have been observed by the current owner and recent service carried out within the last year includes new front and rear hood struts as well as a new CDI ignition box. The engine was completely resealed and tuned in 2017 as detailed in the invoice provided in the photo gallery.  The secondary air injection pump was also refurbished during this time with a new belt and hoses.

This sale will include original owner’s manuals, a toolkit, spare tire, service records, a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, a new rubber front bumper insert, and a clean title.  Do not miss your chance to become the next proud caretaker of this well-maintained and low mileage 1986 Turbo.

    @Johnjr007007 It isn't that your questions are unwarranted but it is a bit unfair to ask the seller to accommodate relatively last minute requests, even if there was a shop that could accommodate a last minute notice. It would be nice to give the seller some courtesy and if you don't turn the "didn't the see the car till now" issue into the seller's problem. You might want to consider calling around once you came across the listing to see who could do a PPI for you BEFORE the listing ends, instead of mentioning a post-auction PPI to "protect [you]" (which again is contrary to the rules). How about protecting the seller because he otherwise would have had a solid buyer who knows how the auction works?

    Not cool.

    @porsche_dreamer I just discovered listing 2 days ago and my questions and request are all warranted. I’ll wait to see what seller will allow. Thank you for your feedback

  • porsche_dreamer (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @Johnjr007007 PPI is supposed to be done before bidding per the FAQ. Under the Buyer Agreement, you are obligated to buy the car if you have the winning bid if it is equal to or exceeds the reserve. You have had almost a week to ask for a PPI but you came out to ask for a PPI 2 days before the auction end. If you don't complete the purchase, you will still be charged the 5% fee.

    Also, it isn't fair to other bidders if you are thinking of bidding but will back out if your post-auction PPI doesn't come through.

    @KSeelman okay please let me know what pcar says.

  • KSeelman (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @Johnjr007007 Third party inspection fine, would have to talk to Pcar on the auction side not sure what the rules are. You are more than welcome to talk to Porsche dealer/ service and ask them any questions

  • Johnjr007007 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @KSeelman I’m looking for facts that the car has no previous damaged and paint work along with verifying actual miles and match numbers engine. If I won auction can we make it contingent upon a 3rd party inspection prior to completing the purchase to protect me? I would not want to be locked into a purschase if I find out the car is not what it seems to be.

  • KSeelman (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @Johnjr007007 I am going to dealer Friday, may rain tomorrow. What are you looking for in an inspection, they have serviced the car while I have owned it. The Porsche dealer has been all over the car for the last 10 plus year and they have not seen any sign of damage or wreck

  • Johnjr007007 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @KSeelman please put up results and all pictures as early as possible Tomorrow so I can look at them and process and determine whether I would like to bid on your car. I appreciate you getting inspection and paint meter this will definitely help.

  • Johnjr007007 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @KSeelman okay great

  • KSeelman (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @sitton_w In the right light and angle I notice a slightly different color shade
    Does not show signs of paint work may have been done a factory or when it came to states, do not have any additional information
    Having paint metered Friday

  • KSeelman (seller) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    @Johnjr007007 Miles are original, I purchased with slightly less mileage from dealer. I can take photo of service book to show dates
    Engine is original
    Never been in wreck - I will to to dealer Friday having for inspection not sure what they can write up
    Also having paint metered will then have results posted

  • Johnjr007007 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    Couple questions;

    1. You mentioned that the “miles shown on odometer is 22k” are they original and true and do you have service records to support that.

    2. Is engine the original engine ?

    3. Can you get an inspection on the car to figure out if it’s been in a wreck?

    I’m very interested in the car although I want to make sure there is no frame damage of major accidents on car as carfax only tells so much. Please let me know.

  • Johnjr007007 (registered bidder) 2 years, 11 monthsago

    I sent you a message? Not sure if you received it. Please let me know

No paint work done during my ownership. When purchased seller stated no paint work, passenger door in the right light looks off a bit but shows no signs of being painted
