We are pleased to present this 1987 Porsche 911 Turbo Slant Nose finished in Silver Metallic over a black interior.  Ordered through Porsche’s "Sonderwunsch” Special Wishes program, this 930 came factory fitted with the Slant Nose option (M505) which was offered at an additional cost of around $29k at the time and included custom bodywork styled after the aerodynamic 935 racing cars of the early 1980s.  Less than 1k Slant Nose versions are reported to have been built in total, of which only several hundred made their way to the United States.  This 1987 example was acquired by the current owner approximately 10 years ago and has been stored as part of their private collection in a climate-controlled warehouse ever since. Benefitting from a major service of the fuel system recently carried out by the specialists at Champion Motorsports, this rare and highly collectible Porsche 930 Slant Nose is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing just under 45k miles on the odometer.

This 930 comes finished in Silver Metallic (L980) and is factory equipped with handcrafted steel Flachbau fenders, pop-up headlights, boxed rocker panels, and rear fender flares with slatted air intakes as part of the M505 Slant Nose option. The seller believes some areas of the car to have been previously refinished based on paint meter readings which are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  The factory 16” Fuchs wheels have received a custom polished finish and come dressed a set of older Hankook tires.

Inside, you will find a black interior with a pair of factory power-adjustable Sport Seats, an upgraded radio, and an aftermarket alarm system. The seller notes that the A/C may be due for recharge and confirms all other features and accessories to be working properly. The factory specifications label on the underside of the hood lists the following original options:

  • 158 – Cassette-Radio Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46
  • 220 – Limited Slip Differential (40%)
  • 383 – Sport Seat, Left, Electrical Height Adjustment
  • 387 – Sport Seat, Right, Electrical Height Adjustment
  • 391 – Stone Guard Decals (n/a for M505)
  • 505 – Slant Nose (USA)
  • 533 – Alarm
  • 650 - Sunroof

Power comes from a turbocharged and intercooled 3.3L flat-six engine rated at 282 HP and 289 lb.-ft of torque stock.  The rear wheels are driven through a 4-speed manual transmission and a factory-optioned limited-slip differential. This example comes equipped with an upgraded wastegate spring for increased turbo boost pressure. The seller reports that a major service was carried out by Champion Motorsports about eight months ago including the installation of new fuel pumps, refreshed wiring, a new fuel filter, cleaning of the fuel accumulator, and an oil and filter change. Images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.

This sale will include a clean title. Among the rarest and most iconic 911 Turbos of all time, this 930 Slant Nose is not to be missed.

PCAR MARKET, please get the facts straight:

'Ordered through Porsche’s "Sonderwunsch” Special Wishes program, this 930 came factory fitted with the Slant Nose option (M505) which was offered at an additional cost of around $29k at the time and included custom bodywork styled after the aerodynamic 935 racing cars of the early 1980s.'

By 1987, the M505 was a factory option and not a 'Special Wishes' option. The CAR WAS ORDERED AS FACTORY CAR WITH A FACTORY OPTION. The 'Special Wishes' cars from Werks 1 were not the same as the factory optioned cars from the M505 factory option that were built on the standard Porsche 930 assembly line. The real 'Special Wishes cars' were bespoke one off builds, that eventually led to the M505 slant nose as a more mass-produced factory option. In 1987, Porsche did offer some exclusive options derived from the Special Wishes program, of which I do not see any notable options on this car. Some of those options would have been 3 spoke steering wheel, center console, etc...

This is a rather standard, and lovely, slant nose, M505 930, from the factory.

Trans number should be have 7 digits and one letter in it. Likely starting with 77H. If you can find it and post a picture you’ll bring more money.

I think 930 number is the gearbox type, transmission number will be longer and have a letter in it.

@ERLY911 Actually this vehicle has the stock suspension (see photos #99, #114 & #115) above must have been a mix up as I did most of the description over the phone with the PCarmarket Team. Thank you for pointing that out I’ll make a message to them to have it corrected.

  • Slantnose (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Hi, are any pictures available of the front fenders showing the headlight linkage/motor area and/or closeups of the headlights underneath?

  • ERLY911 (registered bidder) 2 years, 4 monthsago

Looks great in silver. But "lowering springs"?? This car has no"springs" in the suspension. Ride height is obtained through adjusting the torsion bar settings and rear spring plates, unless the car has been modified to coil overs.
