For the 1987 model year, Porsche introduced the new S4 variant of the 928 grand touring car featuring a more powerful 5.0-liter V8 engine, new aerodynamic bodywork, and improved amenities. This launch-year example comes finished in Marine Blue Metallic over a beige and blue Leather to Sample interior and comes equipped with a 4-speed automatic transaxle as well as an upgraded brake kit and adjustable Koni shocks. Also benefitting from a new timing belt and water pump, this 928 S4 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing approximately 106k miles on the odometer.

The S4 version of Porsche’s 928 received new flush-mounted taillight assemblies and a more aerodynamic rounded nose as well as smoother rocker panels and a raised black polyurethane rear spoiler. This example is finished in Marine Blue Metallic (L35V) with matching body side moldings and red-painted brake calipers. It rides on a set of 17” 993 Turbo-look wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps and Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2005. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features beige and dark blue Leather to Sample upholstery (98) with blue carpeting and a dark blue leather headliner. Accessories include power-adjustable front seats with driver position memory, power windows and mirrors, an electric sunroof, a digital clock, automatic climate control, cruise control, a locking glovebox, and a sound system paired with a factory Blaupunkt radio. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional.

The 928 S4 introduced a new 5.0-liter V8 DOHC engine featuring four valves per cylinder, Motronic (LH Jetronic) engine management, knock sensors, and two electric cooling fans. The 4-speed automatic transmission also received slightly modified final drive ratios and a larger torque converter.  Producing an output of up to 320 HP and 317 lb.-ft of torque, the 928 S4 was able to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in approximately 6 seconds with a top speed of over 160 MPH. This example features an upgraded brake kit with larger cross-drilled rotors as well as adjustable Koni shocks and aftermarket sway bars. Recent service items are said to include a new timing belt and water pump, an A/C compressor and expansion valve, a brake master cylinder, and new control arms. A corresponding service invoice is said to accompany the sale along with extensive maintenance records.

This sale will include a set of owner’s manuals, service records, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction here. This beautiful Porsche has been loved and pampered. All maintenance is up to date and the exterior and interior are in pristine condition. A true grand touring driver’s car with a V8 engine.
