Introduced for the 1987 model year, the 944 S debuted with several major updates including a new inline four-cylinder engine with dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. This first-year example is specified with an uncommon Malvern Red finish over black upholstery and equips a removable sunroof and upgraded 16” 993 wheels. Garage-stored and accompanied by various service documentation, this 944 S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Virginia with approximately 106k miles showing on the odometer.

This 944 was specified with a Malvern Red (LY3E) finish, a rare color only offered for the 1987 model year. It can be distinguished as an “S” model by its “16 Ventiler” embossed badge integrated behind the side indicators. A set of 16" 993 wheels have been mounted with Bridgestone Potenza Sport 4 tires installed at 104,647 miles. The seller notes minor signs of road wear on the lower panels, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Black partial leather upholstery and features a removable sunroof panel with an electric tilt feature.
