Now up for auction is this 1988 Ferrari 328 GTS presented in Rosso Corsa over a beige leather interior. The final evolution of Ferrari’s transverse-mounted naturally aspirated V8 Dino engine, the 328 is regarded as one of the more reliable and usable classic Ferraris on the market. Acquired by the seller in 2018 from its second owner of nearly 30 years, this 328 GTS has recently undergone a major service at a cost of over $14k and is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee with approximately 19k miles showing on the odometer.

This 328 GTS is finished in the iconic shade of Rosso Corsa with a removable black roof panel. The Pininfarina-designed bodywork was derived from the preceding 308 model, but with some notable changes including a redesigned nose portion and color-matched bumpers. Styling features include a roof spoiler, side air intakes, pop-up headlights, integrated fog lamps, and quad exhaust tips exiting through the rear valance. CARFAX shows a minor accident in 1996 which is said to have resulted in the rear bumper being refinished.  Some paint chips are also noted on the front hood louvers, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a full CARFAX report.  This GTS retains its factory 16” 5-spoke wheels clad in new Continental Extreme Contact tires.

The interior is trimmed in beige leather with matching door panels, carpeting, Ferrari-branded floor mats, and a contrasting black leather-wrapped dashboard. The 5-speed gated shifter sits ahead of controls for the HVAC system and lighting. A three-spoke MOMO steering wheel frames Veglia instrumentation including a 180-MPH speedometer, a 10k-RPM tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature and oil pressure. Driver amenities include power windows, air conditioning, and an aftermarket Alpine head unit. The seller reports all instrumentation and accessories to be working properly at this time.

This 328 GTS is powered by a 3.2L Tipo F105 V8 engine with Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, transversely behind the passenger compartment. An output of up to 270 HP and 231 lb.-ft of torque is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. This 328 has recently received a full service including a new clutch and clutch cable, a valve adjustment, new spark plugs, ignition wires, a new battery, coolant hoses, shift seals, and oil sump gaskets.  The seller adds that there was no expense spared to ensure the car was in strong mechanical order.

This sale will include a set of keys, the original owner's manuals and leather portfolio, some service records, a spare tire, car cover, and a clean title. This well-sorted 328 GTS offers a great opportunity for any enthusiast in search of a classic Ferrari, do not miss out.

Hi all. We’re in the last hour of bidding and wish you all the best of luck. I had looked at these cars for awhile before I finally purchased this one. Rest assured and for piece of mind this car is all dialed in and ready for someone’s collection. As an enthusiast and collector myself, I would rate it near the top. Someone is going to enjoy driving or showing this petrol annuity.

@mdrndvsn @mdrndvsn, no modifications at all, completely stock and would pass California Smog.

  • mdrndvsn (registered bidder) 2 years, 7 monthsago

Any modifications that would prohibit the car from passing CA smog?

Hi all. I have struggled with the decision to list this beautiful 328GTS up for auction, but a new car that I never expected to get has become available so unfortunately something has to go. I had purchased this car earlier this year with the expectation of keeping it for many years to come. I am the owner that takes great care and pride in my cars so I generally spare no expense when it comes to service or maintenance requirements. This Ferrari is really in exceptional condition inside out showing little to no wear. When I had acquired the car it was very complete with all the check box items such as books, keys, cover, tools however the service records were rather incomplete. As a result I took it in and have everything on the car addressed and updated to the tune of over $14000. I had also installed a brand new set of Conti's. The car looks and drives amazing!! I am happy to answer any questions.
