Up for auction is this 1988 Mercedes-Benz W124 300E finished in Smoke Silver over a Cream Beige MB-Tex interior. This well-preserved example features a 3.0 L inline 6-cylinder engine, a factory sunroof, power operated front seats, and an original Becker radio. Reported to have been delivered new on December 29th, 1987 at Caliber Motors Mercedes-Benz in Anaheim, California, this impeccable 300E is said to have had the same owner throughout its entire life with approximately 34k miles currently showing on the odometer. It is now being offered by its seller in Massachusetts complete with the original owner’s manuals and maintenance booklet.
The factory Smoke Silver (702) finish is reported to be in very good original condition with only a few slight imperfections on the bumpers and a light scuff on the trunk lid near the star emblem (detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the photo gallery). This W124 remains completely original in its appearance with factory 15” alloy wheels.
The Cream Beige MB-Tex (leatherette) interior remains in exceptional condition as stated by the seller. Factory features include electric front seats with memory, an electrically adjustable steering column, climate control, and a steel sunroof. The original Becker radio is said to be working properly along with all other gauges and accessories.
Power is derived from a naturally aspirated 3.0 L M103 inline 6-cylinder engine rated at 177 HP. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed automatic transaxle allowing for effortless cruising. Some service history is shown on CARFAX detailing the ownership of the car in California from new up until 2020. With a fresh oil change and inspection carried out in preparation for sale, this W124 is said to be in excellent driving condition.
