Representing the most powerful R107 SL-Class roadster sold in the U.S. during its production run, this 1988 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. Finished in Smoke Silver Metallic over a Cream Beige leather interior, it comes equipped with a dark brown soft top, a removable body-color hardtop, 15” Gullideckel alloy wheels, power accessories, automatic climate control, a Becker AM/FM cassette stereo, and more. Showing approximately 45k miles on the odometer, this 560SL is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
This example is finished in Smoke Silver Metallic (702) and features a dark brown soft top and a removable body-color hardtop. Exterior details include quad headlamps, fog lights, chrome accents on the bumpers, trim, and side mirrors. It rides on silver-finished 15″ Gullideckel alloy wheels wrapped in Goodyear Regatta Touring tires. The seller notes the hood and factory hardtop were repainted to address cosmetic transport damage. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in Cream Beige leather (275) along with matching door panels, trim, and carpeting. Amenities include a four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, automatic climate control, cruise control, central locking, electric windows and mirrors, and a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM cassette stereo. All gauges and electronics are reported to be in proper working order with no warning lights illuminated.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated and fuel-injected 5.6-liter M117 V8 SOHC engine, which delivers a factory-rated 227 HP and 279 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. It has power steering, a fully independent suspension, and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The suspension setup features double wishbones up front, a diagonal swing axle in the rear, and stabilizer bars to the front and rear. Recent service in February 2025 included an oil change and vacuum system repairs.
This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, a car cover, a hardtop stand, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This SL is as nice as it gets. New owner will not be disappointed.”

@Rlanning - I dont see any dates on the tires. The first aid kit is no longer with the car. The soft top is original, and in pretty good condition. There is a small cut (about 2 inches), that was patched from the inside.
There are pictures of this in the gallery . It does not leak.
Bid in the amount of $13,000
Please provide the tire date codes and does a first aid kit come with the car? Please provide the age and condition of the top. Thanks. Rlan

@PEDIGREE11 - AC blows out of all four vents. No dash cracks.
Two questions, does the AC blow out of the center vents? Common issue on these cars where they only blow out of the side vents, otherwise its a costly repair. Also are there any cracks on the dash or around the instrament binnacle? It's hard to see in the pictures.
@Aviator - It has been converted to R134. Mileage portion of the title is blank. IL, like most states, doesn't record milage for vehicles over 10yrs old unless requested.
Thank you.
Converted to R134? Titled with 45,000 miles or “mileage exempt”.
Thanks again !
@Aviator - Everything works. A/C blows cold. It's a U.S. car. Headlight were changed to the square Euro style ones. I am a dealer
Car looks sharp!
This is a Euro-spec/delivery R107, correct? Also, Does everything work? AC updated?
Previous bidder mentioned “short term ownership.” This is a dealer car, not a personal vehicle, correct?
Thanks in advance!
Bid in the amount of $6,750
BTW, videos have been added.
@lfix997 sorry- I scrolled past your earlier comment/answer about lack of service records.
Hello. Beautiful car. Do you have any other service records or knowledge of timing chain/ guides being serviced?
@Wcstark1 - Thanks. The car is gorgeous,
looks like jewelery in my warehouse.
I had mt Benz specialist go over the entire car when I got it. He took care of all its need (wasn't much). The invoice is in the gallery. I don't have any prior service records.
Beautiful 560 SL, do you have any past service records? oil pan gasket replacement, transmission service, spark plugs, shocks replacement, has the AC system been updated to R134a? etc etc? I noticed very short term ownership, any reason? Thank you
