We are pleased to offer this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe.  Completed in 2021, this custom build includes a full glass-out repaint in its original color of Marine Blue Metallic, installation of custom GTS Classics seats, genuine Minilite wheels, new Bilstein and Eibach suspension, upgraded brakes, and a freshly rebuilt 3.6L flat-six engine paired with a rebuilt G50 5-speed manual gearbox.  With approximately 1k miles driven since the completion of the build, this beautifully executed 911 Carrera custom is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Tennessee.

In March of 2021, this Carrera underwent a full glass out repaint in its uncommon factory color of Marine Blue Metallic (L35).  A ducktail rear spoiler was also installed along with silver Porsche stripe graphics, chrome center-exit exhaust tips, and a set of genuine 15” Minilite wheels measuring 7” wide in front and 9” wide in the rear.  These wheels come dressed in new Hankook Kinergy ST tires measuring 205/60 and 265/50.  Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report and photos from the build process.

The cabin is appointed with factory Linen leather, blue carpeting, and has been recently fitted with a set of custom GTS Classics Vallelunga bucket seats upholstered in grey suede with Carrera pattern cloth inserts and blue painted fiberglass shells.  Other additions include a new 917-style wooden shift knob and a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel wrapped in black leather with blue deviated stitching.  An upgraded aftermarket radio has also been installed along with Kenwood speakers on the rear shelf. The seller describes some minor signs of wear and confirms all gauges and accessories to remain fully functional.

This Carrera has been equipped with a newly rebuilt 3.6L flat-six engine sourced from a 1990 Porsche 964.  The engine rebuild was completed within the last 1k miles and included a Steve Wong performance chip, custom free-flow cat-back exhaust, a performance air filter, and lightweight clutch and flywheel assemblies.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a factory G50 5-speed manual gearbox which was also rebuilt during this project.  The suspension has been overhauled with new Bilstein Sport shocks and struts, Eibach 22mm/24mm adjustable sway bars, bump steer spacers, and Turbo tie rods.  The braking system has also been upgraded with a new master cylinder, slotted and cross-drilled sport rotors, and Turbo-spec 4-piston ATE front calipers.

This sale will include a clean title. Offering ample power and classic styling, this custom 1988 Carrera is the perfect choice for an avid air-cooled driving enthusiast.

    @badboybuses When we rebuilt the engine it was in a 90 964 C4 cab. Due to broken head studs! Several!
    All 24 replaced wit 993 ones.
    The client just wanted a stock rebuild and only had a certain budget.
    The heads and cyl's were trued during the Valve job that included valve guides
    Right after the rebuild with only about 700 miles it was in a accident.
    I bought the car and removed the engine and installed it in this 88 Carrera.
    The engine only has about a 1000 miles now since the rebuild. It runs very good!
    Thanks!

    Any idea why the head gasket mod wasn't done when it was apart?

  • PorscheDoc (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

    If interested!
    I would substitute a set of Fuch wheels if desired for the buyer!

  • PorscheDoc (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

    @3-Pedals No it doesn't. It's a standard open diff.
    Thanks!

  • 3-Pedals (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

    Does the gearbox have a limited slip diff?

  • PorscheDoc (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

    @Talleyman The photos you requested are now up along with one of the G50s serial number.
    Thanks!

  • PorscheDoc (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

    @Talleyman No, during the rebuild they did not get the head gasket modification. The head mating surface were trued up at the machine shop during the valve job and the new valve guides. This engine was rebuilt at the 120k mile mark due to broken head studs. It received a full set of 24 new 993 type studs.
    Yes the foot blowers are in good working condition along with all the rest of the heating and air-conditioning system. I will get you some photos of the underneath of the car with serial numbers of transmission and have them uploaded.
    Thanks!

    Was the engine machined to facilitate head gaskets? Do the footwell blowers work? Please, provide transmission model/serial number and a complete chassis picture array.

  • PorscheDoc (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

    @jchung0670 Yes I have a set of 6&7s x16 Fuchs
    Not the actual wheels that were on the car but same.

  • jchung0670 2 years, 5 monthsago

    Do you have the original Fuchs wheels?

    Great build and nice looking car. The Minilites makes the car stand out from the rest, yet still classic. The hp of the 3.6 is perfect for this car. Someone will be very happy! GLWA.
