Finished in Black over a matching leather interior, this 1988 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe features a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle paired with its 3.2-liter flat-six engine. The car was acquired by the current owner in 2022 and has since undergone extensive service along with the installation of an upgraded KW V3 coilover suspension, a Dansk sport exhaust, a Porsche Classic (PCCM) head unit, and a Porsche MOMO steering wheel. This classic air-cooled 911 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California with approximately 113k miles showing on the odometer.

This 911 is finished in Black and rides on factory 16” Fuchs alloy wheels. Other equipment includes yellow-tinted front fog lights, a front chin spoiler, heated power-adjustable mirrors, colored Porsche crest wheel center caps, an electric sunroof, impact bumpers, and an aftermarket polished muffler tip. New Pirelli P7 tires were mounted in 2022 and refurbishments in 2023 included replacements of the wiper blades and rear window seal. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features power-adjustable front seats in black leather with a matching dashboard, door panels, carpeting, and headliner. Accessories include power windows, a central locking system, air conditioning, cruise control, and a sound system. Under current ownership, a Porsche-branded MOMO steering wheel was installed along with a modern Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) head unit. The shift knob was also replaced along with the steering column bearing, a brake light switch, and the A/C blower fan.

Power is sent to the rear wheels from an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine paired with a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. Under current ownership, the car was fitted with an upgraded KW V3 coilover suspension along with a Dansk sport muffler and high-flow catalytic converter. The seller notes the car is not compliant with California emissions regulations given the current exhaust setup. Recent service includes new control arm and spring plate bushings, tie rods, sway bar bushings, rebuilt brake calipers, new brake lines, brake pads, rotors, parking brake shoes, oil lines, shifter bushing, and a new battery ground strap. Corresponding invoices are provided for reference in the gallery.

This sale will include service records and a clean title.

@sjuhawks19 I see no evidence engine has been rebuilt or had any significant repairs. 3.2 engines will go for hundreds of thousands of miles if maintained correctly. This car runs like a top

  • sjuhawks19 (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Any pics of the passenger seat? To your knowledge, has the engine ever gone through a rebuild of any kind?

  • Workshop5001 (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@leftcoastq car is super clean. We just paint metered. Those pics will be up shortly.

  • eggsandwich (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Thanks for the video. A nod to your editor for including the egregious palm tree shot...! Couldn't hold back his artistic instincts for this commercial video.

  • leftcoastq (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Thank you for the attentiveness! Any other evidence of rust? Body/chassis?

  • Workshop5001 (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@chollz yes! Reach out directly and we will make arrangements

  • chollz (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Is it possible to view the vehicle in person?

  • Workshop5001 (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@leftcoastq if using all genuine Porsche parts, cat, heat sheild, hardware etc the parts retail for $6,869.98 as of today. There would also be few hours of labor to install… There are CARB approved aftermarket cats that would be significantly less expensive, but I would recommend factory parts if retrofitting back to CA smog legal.

  • leftcoastq (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Beautiful car. Could you comment on expected incremental cost to smog it for CA?

  • eggsandwich (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Gotta love the work that Workshop5001 does.

@chollz hopefully coordinating video as well. It is a dansk sport muffler and sport cat, it doesn’t sound much different than a stock original car, MAYBE 10% louder🤷‍♂️. When my client bought the car it had a cheap aftermarket cat and muffler. As the car was being registered in Hawaii we felt the dansk sport cat was best option compared to expensive factory cat

  • chollz (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@Workshop5001 thank you, will you be posting a driving video? I would love to hear what that exhaust sounds like.

  • Workshop5001 (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@chollz car is coming back to us from storage by Tuesday and we will verify paint meter readings. Not sure if client kept the original steering wheel, but we could easily find one if necessary. Current steering wheel is the Porsche / MOMO mod7 with red stitch, they are also available in all black.

  • chollz (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

Does the car come with the original steering wheel?
Has the car ever been re-painted?
    Can you share paint readings?

  • Workshop5001 (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@jointprojects as previously stated in comments a factory cat would not be included in the auction. We can install a cat and make it pass smog as a separate transaction

  • jointprojects (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

Is the stock catalytic converter included? CA resident, so would have to smog it. Thanks.

  • energyof2 (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@energyof2 Never mind I saw them tucked down at the end.

  • energyof2 (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@Workshop5001 Fair enough I will look again because what I see from a year perspective in '08, '09, '10-'12, 16, and the intake manifold and injector seals in 2019.

  • Workshop5001 (seller) 1 month, 3 weeksago

@energyof2 all of our invoices from last 2yrs are in the photo album. I suggest you fully look through everything and let me know if you have any specific questions after full review. If you want to pass smog all it needs is a cat which we can still buy new from Porsche. That would be outside the auction.

  • energyof2 (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

Nice. So I see maintenance done years ago. What has been done say in the last 5 years? I am in CA so the SMOG topic is real. Does it pass when the stock cat in?? Thanks

@srodgrg would just need a cat. It’s currently running a dansk sport cat. Please reach out directly to discuss

  • srodgrg (registered bidder) 1 month, 3 weeksago

Do you have a stock exhaust, or whatever is needed to get it to pass California smog and registration?
