Now available for auction is this 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet finished in Grand Prix White over a Marine Blue leather interior.  Representing one of only 591 Turbo Cabriolets sold in the United States for the model year, this 1988 example was originally delivered to Gullo-Haas Imports of Houston, Texas, with an optional limited-slip differential and painted Fuchs wheels.  In the late 1990s, this Turbo was upgraded with an Andial Racing intercooler, manual boost controller, and Miller Woods fuel enrichment system.  Currently residing in Connecticut with approximately 40k miles showing on the odometer, this Turbo is now being offered for auction accompanied by its original window sticker, owner’s manuals, and a collection of service records dating back over 30 years.

This 930 was ordered in Grand Prix White (L908) with a dark blue cabriolet soft top and Fuchs wheels with Grand Prix White painted centers.  Characteristic features of the Turbo include wide fenders, black rear stone guards, a rubber front air dam, and Tea Tray rear spoiler.  The seller describes the finish to be all original with factory tags and labels remaining affixed on all panels, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.  The 16” Fuchs wheels are currently dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S tires which were mounted in 2009.

Inside, the driver is greeted by a Marine Blue leather (TP) interior with matching carpets and an optional three-spoke steering wheel with an elevated hub.  Other features include electrically adjustable front seats with driver-side lumbar support, air conditioning, automatic heating control, headlight washers, adjustable exterior mirrors, power windows, central locking, and an alarm system.  Upgraded speakers have been installed along with an Alpine radio. An Andial boost gauge has also been mounted in place of the clock with a manual boost controller knob installed beneath the dash.  The seller reports some wear on the shift knob, a few small marks on the driver-side door pocket, and a tear in the soft top that has been patched.

This 930 is equipped with an air-cooled 3.3L turbocharged and intercooled flat-six engine generating as much as 282 HP and 289 lb.-ft of torque stock.  The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed manual transmission and a factory-optioned limited-slip differential.  An upgraded Andial intercooler and Miller Woods fuel enrichment system was installed at Don McGill Porsche of Houston, Texas, in 1991 as documented in a corresponding invoice.  The camshafts were also replaced by Don McGill Porsche in 1996.  More recent service includes an overhaul of the ignition system and replacement of the valve cover gaskets in 2015 followed by oil, filter, and A/C service in 2019.  Corresponding invoices are provided for reference in the gallery.

This sale will include a set of two keys, the original owner’s manuals, stamped maintenance book, window sticker, toolkit, service records, and a clean title. Do not miss your chance to become the next owner of this stunning 1988 Turbo Cabriolet with rare Andial upgrades.

@elz0808 the intercooler upgrade was done by the 1st owner at the Porsche dealer in 1991. We do not have the intercooler, don't know when the radio was done, we only have the literature on it. I have seen reno sqr 46 for sale on eBay Thanks

  • elz0808 (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@DanL991TS Hi, when the gentleman who bought this car in 2005. He had Auto associates Bristol motor works and Daniel jacobs work on and maintain this 930 if you were from Connecticut you know these are all reputable Porsche repair shops before he got the 930 all receipts show Porsche dealer maintenance. When we got the 930 turbo we did oil and filter shifter bushings see pics, repair left top release motor, the last receipt I have of auto associates is august 2019 they did Spectro motor oil and added some freon. The gentleman was 75 in 2005 when he purchased it and 90 when we got it. This car has been very well cared for mechanically and has no paint work. The top is all original has the small patch and the back window is super clear the top was only wrinkled because it was inside the shop and down for a few weeks while we were doing pictures Thanks

  • DanL991TS (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Oops! I see Automobile Assoc. Receipts in your photos. Maybe I will call Jim.

  • DanL991TS (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Good morning. I noticed in the photos that the top seems to be wrinkled. Can you comment on the condition of the top and rear window, please? Also, having lived in CT for most of my life(currently in SC), do the guys at Auto Associates know this car?

Hi, is this a numbers matching car?
And have the brakes been upgraded?
    Thanks

  • DrivingImage (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Hi Cward2, thanks for the information. These were amazing cars then and now.

  • Cward2 (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Spectacular car. Pretty certain dealer 711 was Don McGill Porsche-Audi on I10 west . I was wrenching there still and recall a car with this color combo (we delivered usually red/black and black/black 911 turbo cabs). Not certain but I’d expect Hans Kohn did the PDI (RIP he was a wonderful human). Those were great days to work at a Porsche dealership. I’m sure this car is spectacular in person. We delivered a white on cork m491 there that I still dream of. GLWA but you might not need it as this example is so pristine in all the right places.
