We are pleased to offer this 1988 Porsche 930 Turbo Cabriolet finished in Guards Red over a tan leather interior with desirable factory Sport Seats. Representing one of only 591 U.S. market examples produced for the model year, this 1988 930 is among the last of the air-cooled Turbos to have been offered as a Cabriolet. It was sold new from Holbert Motors of Warrington, Pennsylvania, and is said to have remained under the care of its original owner from new. Reported to have always been kept up to date on routine service and preventative maintenance, this outstanding 930 has accumulated just over 30k miles and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
This 930 is finished in traditional Guards Red with a black cabriolet soft top and tonneau cover. It features characteristic wide fenders, black stone guards, a front air dam, and Tea Tray rear spoiler. The finish is described to have been very well preserved throughout the years, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This Turbo rides on factory 16” Fuchs wheels dressed in Pirelli P-Zero Rosso tires which are said to have been mounted in 2019 within the last 300 miles.
Inside, this Cabriolet features a tan leather interior with black carpeting and factory power-operated Sport Seats. The cabin stays true to its original specifications with the factory Blaupunkt radio remaining in place. The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be in working properly.
Powering this 930 is an air-cooled 3.3L turbocharged flat-six engine paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. As much as 282 HP and 289 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels allowing for acceleration from 0-60 MPH in under 5 seconds. In addition to its increased power output, the Turbo model also received upgraded suspension and braking components compared with the standard Carrera of the time. This 930 is said to have been properly cared for by its lifelong owner, receiving all scheduled service and preventative maintenance to ensure proper running order. Some maintenance history is provided on CARFAX including the last recorded service in 2019 at 30,206 miles by Sloane Porsche which included replacement of the ignition control module.

Kudos to the current owner for 10 oil changes over a 5000 mile, 28 year stewardship..
The CARFAX shows the car sold on 4-17-89, then purchased on 7-28-93 @ 25,162 miles which averages just under 6k a year for 3.25 years.
When was the stock exhaust replaced and are the Fuchs wheels original to the car? Earlier build 1988 930’s came with valve stem supports to prevent the rubber valve stem from bending and losing air pressure at speed.
