This 1988 Porsche 924S has been extensively modified for the track. The 944 S-based drivetrain features a rebuilt 2.5-liter inline-four and an upgraded 5-speed manual transmission along with a Lindsey Racing Billet fuel rail, limited-slip differential, Motion Control suspension dampers on each corner, a 944 Turbo sway bar, an upgraded torsion bar with adjustable drop downs, braided brake lines, a fire-suppression system, and much more. Utilized for PCA Club Racing, this vehicle underwent prior modifications for auto-crossing activities before its conversion into a dedicated racecar in 2008. Finished in Black over a stripped-out lightweight cockpit, this track-ready example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas with an accompanying Trailex trailer.

Factory finished in Black, this 924S has been adorned with racing decals and fitted with tow hooks, hood safety pins, and a Lexan windshield, quarter windows, and rear window. The front driver and passenger windows have been removed. The car rides on white-finished 15” Phone Dial wheels dressed in Hankook Ventus RS4 tires. The seller adds that three additional sets of 15” Phone Dial wheels (black, platinum, & silver), one set of Hankook Ventus RS4 tires, and two sets of Hoosier slick tires will accompany the sale. Recent race history includes track days at Harris Hill Raceway in Buda, Texas, along with a Champ Car race in September 2021. Minor dings and scratches from track use are noted, and detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report noting damage in January 2015.

The cabin has been stripped to accommodate motorsport-focused equipment while also saving weight. Features include a welded roll cage, LifeLine Zero 360 3kg Novec fire suppression system, auxiliary fire extinguisher, a MOMO Prototipo quick-release steering wheel, and Schroth seatbelts & window nets. The cabin is also equipped with a CoolSuit cooler and hoses. The seller adds that an Ultra-Shield racing seat is currently installed and OMP HTE-R & Cobra seats will accompany the sale as well. Other racing accessories include additional gauges, radio controls, an AIM lap timer, and emergency cut-off switches.

Power is provided by a rebuilt 2.5-liter inline-four engine currently estimated at 140-150 HP and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Features include Racers Edge forged rods, 10.2:1 compression pistons, Billett fuel injection, a limited-slip differential, a 944 Turbo S 26.8 sway bar, steel control arms, a 30mm torsion bar, braided brake lines, Zimmerman brakes, and much more. The seller would like you to know: “Excited for this auction. The car is fun to track and race. It has the typical 944/924 weight balance. With the addition of the Motion Control tunable suspension, you can adjust handling for a variety of track conditions. With my focus shifting to classic P-cars for the street, I am looking forward to seeing the 924 move on to a new owner.  PCA Club Racing or Endurance Racing are viable options for you. Thank you for joining the fun!”

What is the width of the trailer. Trying to figure possible transport to Ga

  • Rebel-Jas (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

@Drive-em When the previous owner did the rebuild in 2018, the clutch and pressure plate were replaced. the hours on that clutch would be the same 114 as noted below. All the track laps are from Harris Hill (https://www.harrishillroad.com/about.html) which is a 2 mile course. probably have done 200+ laps in track days. Hope that helps. Let me know if there are other questions.

  • Drive-em (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

Could you tell us when the clutch was last replaced and the miles or hours on it? Thanks

  • Rebel-Jas (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

Posting a few more details and some additional photos.

The hours meter shows 114 hours of engine run time since the engine rebuild. That includes to/from the track, track time and the 1 Champ race.

Posting some additional close up photos of the newly installed Lifeline fire suppression system. The Novec system is more effective than the previously installed ESS system. The fire system was never used, to be clear, Lifeline was just a desired upgrade.

  • Rebel-Jas (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@nsolson67 I have taken photos of the race logs from PCA (2012-2018) and Champ(2021). The photos will be added to the portfolio tomorrow by the PCM folks. Please let me know if you have any more questions and thanks for asking!

  • Rebel-Jas (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

@nsolson67 Yes, I am willing to sell the car and the trailer separately. As for the logs, I have the 1 race log for the Champ Car race in 2021 and I'll post some pictures. Also, I will see if I can dig up and post the PCA log book from the previous owner.

  • nsolson67 (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Couple of questions. Will you separate the car and trailer? Do you have log books for the car?

  • Rebel-Jas (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

Hi y'all! Welcome to the auction. Looking forward to engage the comment dialog and answer questions. If there are other aspects to the race car that you want to see, I'm happy to upload additional pics. Also, if you have any questions about the extras, like the wheels, seats or spare parts, I can elaborate. Cheers!
