Up for auction is this 1988 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62 finished in Freeborn Red over a grey cloth interior.  The first Land Cruisers to offer fuel injection, automatic transmissions, and power windows, the 60 Series was designed to compete in the emerging SUV market and represented Toyota’s flagship 4x4 of the 1980s. This 1988 example has been equipped with a 3” lift-kit, rearview camera, LED lighting, a custom rear bumper, touchscreen stereo, upgraded front lockers, and more.  Acquired by the current owner in February of 2020, this Land Cruiser has been daily driven, garage kept, and is now being offered for auction out of California with approximately 242k miles showing on the odometer.

This Land Cruiser comes finished in Freeborn Red, one of five nonmetallic colors offered for the 60 Series. The full exterior is said to have been recently refinished in the original color along with repair of several small dents and rust spots.  Additional images are provided in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. LED low-beam headlight bulbs have been installed as well as a custom steel rear bumper and BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A K02 tires mounted on factory 15” steel wheels.  A full-sized spare and matching tire are also mounted on the rear.

Inside, you will find a well-preserved grey interior with patterned cloth seat and door panel inserts.  White interior LED lights have been installed as well as a touchscreen Kenwood head unit.  All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly including the power windows, air conditioning, and heater.

This Land Cruiser is equipped with a 3F-E 4.0L inline-six engine featuring electronic fuel injection (EFI).  As much as 155 HP and 220 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission and two-speed transfer case.  Upgraded front lockers have been installed along with a 3” lift kit for improved off-road performance.  An invoice from 2020 shows the replacement of the engine oil pan gasket and rear main seal as well as resealing of the transmission and transfer case.  Some additional service records are provided for reference in the photo gallery.

This sale will include service records and a California registration.  The seller has recently applied for a duplicate title which is expected to arrive within the next two weeks. Representing an incredible value for any enthusiast driver in search of a vintage 4x4, this 1988 Land Cruiser is not to be overlooked.

Hey guys and gals thank you for taking interest in my rig! any questions feels free to ask i’m not a pro but i can definitely share any knowledge i have about my toyota. I’m a porsche fanatic at heart but when i needed a nice truck for adventures right before i decided to get a tundra i found this and due to it being so well kept and reliable i decided to go this route and never regretted it!
just moving on now to build another unicorn is the reason to let this baby go if i had room for it i’d keep it!
