We are pleased to present this 1989 BMW E30 M3 finished in Diamond Black Metallic. Originally developed as a homologation special to satisfy Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (DTM) production requirements, the E30 M3 would go on to become one of the most iconic BMW models ever produced. This European-market example was imported to the U.S. from Spain in 2020 and features a 2.3L inline-4-cylinder DOHC S14 engine mated to a European-specific 5-speed dogleg manual gearbox. It comes without a sunroof and features a rare and desirable Anthracite Uberkaro cloth interior. This M3 was recently refinished in its factory color and treated to overhauls of the transmission, cooling system, and air conditioning. Now showing approximately 87k kilometers (54k miles) this E30 M3 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Florida.
In November of 2021, this M3 was completely refinished in its factory specified color of Diamond Black Metallic (181). The M3 can be distinguished from a standard E30 3-Series by its revised front bumper and splitter, rear valence, rocker panels, flared fenders, and rear decklid with an integrated spoiler. The aerodynamic components were manufactured from plastic for weight savings while all the body panels are specific to the M3 apart from the hood and roof panel. The angle of the C-pillars and rear window was also adjusted by the factory to improve airflow towards the rear spoiler. This example was optioned without a sunroof in favor of a fixed roof panel which promotes stiffness while reducing weight from the highest point of the car. This M3 rides on factory 15” Style 5 alloy wheels dressed in 205/55 Dunlop SP Sport FastResponse tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery.
The interior is upholstered in Anthracite Uberkaro cloth with a contrasting black dashboard, center console, and door panels with grey cloth inserts. Driver amenities include air conditioning, an onboard trip computer, power windows and mirrors, and an AM/FM BMW Bavaria cassette stereo. A three-spoke M-Tech 1 steering wheel sits ahead of a 260-km/h speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil temperature, and coolant temperature. Elite Auto Design of Miami completely overhauled the air conditioning system including replacement of the drier, A/C lines, and compressor. The seller has also recently fitted new aftermarket M3-branded floor mats
Under the hood, the original M3 features a 2.3L DOHC S14 inline-4-cylinder engine, which offered up to 192 HP and 176 lb.-ft of torque when new. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 5-speed dogleg manual gearbox and a limited-slip differential. Upon importation, this M3 was fully serviced by Eurompire of North Carolina including powdercoating of the original valve cover, new valve cover gaskets, resealing the transmission and differential, and replacement of the radiator, water pump, clutch fan, ignition system, and fluids. The washer fluid level sensor was also recently replaced along with the clutch master cylinder. Service records are provided for reference in the gallery along with compression test results and images of the undercarriage.
This sale will include service records, an owner's manual, and a clean title. Now is your chance to own a nicely equipped and well-presented example of one of the most important cars in BMWs history, do not miss out.

Looks like since you used a mixture of pics the old pics the hood was shifted towards the passenger side and now it is shifted towards the drivers side. Why hasn't it ever been centered properly?

Bid in the amount of $52,000
@corcars no because it is a eruopean car, it was imported to the US
@fieanliem which picture is it? i have pictures from the previous auction mixed with current pictures, not sure which one are you referring to
is there a Carfax report?
@rnak the previous paint job done in Spain was not the quality i expected so I wanted a fresh paint, paint used was BMW code and invoice is in the photo gallery, it was about $8,000. I live in Lake City and don't know any good quality bodyshop around here, the only body shop I use for all my cars is in Miami (I used to live there) so I shipped the car there in a enclosed trailer and brought it back in the same trailer, it is a local transportation company, they do all the transports of my cars when I need them
is the bubble (cowl rust ) near the driver's window area addressed with the repaint ?
Perhaps I missed it, is there a copy of a Carfax available?
Bid in the amount of $50,000
Thanks, can you please shed some light on why the car needed to be painted again only 4 years after the last paint job? What was the cost of the most recent repaint? Was the glass and trim removed? What type of paint was used? Is the car current located in Lake city? It seems like a long way to send a car all the way down to Miami to get paint work?
@rnak yes it was sold on BaT early this year but the winner backed out due to lack of funds, they banned him for life but I ended up loosing my time there so decided to try it here, after that auction I have resprayed the car entirely and did some additional mechanical work (a/c, clutch etc) lets see how we do here
Hi Seller, cool slicktop. Looks like this vehicle may have sold earlier this year on another site. Why didn't that sale go through?
Bid in the amount of $47,750
Good afternoon everyone, just 1 hour from now we may find out who the new owner of this epic machine will be. Although it is under a reserve price I am confident it will be reached.
I am here for any last minute questions. This is a clean E30 that starts and drives wonderfully. The interior and engine bay look great, mechanically is in top condition as well, feel free to ask any questions and good luck to all bidders.

@Robert.FU.Hastings man that is incredible! My collection was black e30, black e36, stratus grey zcp e46 (but also had 5 more e46s chiaretto red, oxford green, carbon black , lsb and interlagos blue), frozen blue and speed yellow e92 and frozen black f82, you can check them at my IG @edu090909, i miss the speed yellow e92, it was a 1 of 2 with no nav, manual seats only 5k miles, anyways that is history, now i am focused on the GT3s
@Edu09 wow, another nut like me! I have e30-f82 slicktop manual collection as well. All alpine white. I’ve had a bunch of GT3s and still have a 991.2 but don’t love them more than my old bimmers. Cheers and glws!
@Edu09 Slicktops*
@Robert.FU.Hastings thanks for your comments and thank you all for the positive feedback on my car. A brief background of this car, it took me a long time to find it and it is a very rare spec, I needed this one to complete my M3 collection from the E30 all the way to the F82, all were slitktop and manuals (E30, E36, E46, E92 and F82), was planning to keep all these cars for ever until I drove a GT3 and changed my mind and sold all of them to make a small collection of GT3, currently have the 996.2, 997.2 and 991.2, once I have sold this E30 + a 1M and an M2 Performance Edition I still have I will try to buy the 992 GT3, I will miss this one big time because it is so rare and hopefully it finds a new owner who can enjoy it more than i had. Feel free to ask any questions

So rare to see a slicktop e30 M3! I searched forever before finding one (alpine) and have only seen one other since. Love the interior cloth too. What an amazing spec. Should bring all the money!
Oh man I could 5 of these. This car looks great and slick top with cloth is rare. This will go big.
Love the euro cloth and sunroof delete.
slicktop and seats make this car!

@Prashant the car has its original engine and transmission. I bought this car in Spain and imported to the US, the previous owner is a friend of mine and under his ownership the car didnt have any accidents or was tracked, he was the owner for the previous 10 years where he did a respraying of the paint 5 years ago and also major maintenance , all these invoices were sent with the car but US Customs took all the documentation and lost it when the importation was being processed, the car was retained for a deep inspection for over 2 weeks at the port of Miami for unknown reasons, I had to get a new manual from BMW Europe but the service history was unfortunately lost, that is why i did a complete inspection and overhaul at Eurompire NC since I couldn't verify any prior maintenance history , those invoices from Eurompire in NC and Elite Auto Design in Miami are shown on the photo gallery
Hello - Can you confirm the car retains its original engine and transmission? Does it come with a BMW CoA. Do you have previous ownership and service history? Any previous accidents and rust issues on the car? Do you know if the car was ever tracked?
Thank you.
