One of the most unique Ferrari models, the Mondial was produced from 1980 until 1993 as a four-seater mid-engine V8 grand touring car with Pininfarina-designed bodywork by Carrozzeria Scaglietti. The final Mondial t version was introduced in 1988 as the forerunner to a new generation of Ferraris with longitudinally mounted V8 engines and transverse-mounted gearboxes, which form a “t” configuration as denoted in the car’s namesake. This 1989 example is one of 858 Mondial t Coupes produced in total and is among only 43 that were imported to North America. It comes finished in Nero over a beige leather interior and is equipped with a 3.4-liter V8 engine mated to a gated 5-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The car is said to have remained with its previous owner in Georgia for 17 years before the seller’s purchase in 2023. It benefits from a timing belt service in 2019 as well as recent replacement of the tires, wiring repairs, and an A/C system recharge. This rare Mondial t Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Georgia.

The Pininfarina-designed bodywork of the Mondial t was significantly revised compared to earlier models including smaller rectangular side air intakes, new door handles, more rounded fenders, and body-colored bumpers. Other details include a vented hood and engine cover, flying buttress C-pillars, a front air dam, pop-up headlamps, and quad exhaust tips. This 1989 Coupe was refinished in its original color of Nero under prior ownership and rides on factory 16” five-spoke alloy wheels that were mounted with new Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus tires in February 2023. The seller notes that the wiring for the taillights and rear license plate lights was repaired in June 2023. Noted imperfections include some curb rash on the wheels, cracks in two of the wheel center caps, and some paint bubbles along the top of the windshield. The seller adds that the car recently underwent paint correction and a 7-year ceramic coating treatment. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The 2+2 cabin is trimmed in beige leather with matching carpets and a contrasting black leather dashboard. Accessories include power-adjustable front seats, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, a gated shifter, power windows, air conditioning, a vintage Clifford alarm system, an aftermarket Kenwood stereo, and an optional electric sunroof. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly apart from the sunroof which is currently inoperable due to an incorrect switch and binding tracks. The A/C system was overhauled in 2020 and was recharged with R134a refrigerant in June 2023. The CARFAX report shows a Not Actual Mileage title issued by the state of Illinois in 1998 and the seller states that the odometer was previously replaced by Ferrari. The original odometer is said to accompany the sale.

The Mondial t derives up to 300 HP from a longitudinally-mounted 3.4-liter Tipo F119 “Dino” V8 featuring dual overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder as well as Bosch Motronic DME 2.5 engine management with integrated electronic fuel injection. The rear wheels are driven via a 5-speed manual gearbox with a twin-plate clutch and a limited-slip differential. The Mondial t came equipped as standard with an anti-lock braking system (ABS), power-assisted rack and pinion steering, and an adjustable suspension. The clutch was reportedly replaced in 2011, a timing belt service was completed in 2019 along with the replacement of the valve cover gaskets, the power steering rack was rebuilt in 2020, and more recent work included rebuilding the alternator and replacing the hood insulation pad, oil drain plug, coil packs, and oxygen sensors.

This sale will include a toolkit, a tire inflator, an additional set of floor mats, some service records, and a branded title.

The seller would like you to know:  "A very nice and sorted quality Manual V8 Ferrari, Rare Coupe 1 of 43 made, surely to appreciate over time just as every model has before this one."

The seller was having an issue uploading the odometer photo. The issue has been resolved and the photo is now in the listing gallery.

I know this car well. I have seen it in person and driven it and it’s a great car. Full disclosure, I am friends with the listing dealer who is miserably sick and having a hard time answering all the questions. I have owned multiple Ferraris including 348’s and this car is not only fun to drive but it’s very rare as well. Bid with confidence as you will be getting a fully sorted, stunning automobile!

@Doc18015 @240zGuild I sincerely apologize for the delay, I am at the hospital and have been out of touch. I have reached out to Adam with PCAR about the odometer pics I uploaded 2 days ago. It shows 10,496 and this would be in addition to the 39K showing on the car now. to my knowledge it has been repainted once. Im pretty picky and it shows very well in my opinion. I had a Paint correction and 5 year Ceramic coating done a few months ago. Outside of the approx. 2" rust bubble present under the paint above the windshield . Lastly the leather shows very well, there may be some minimum stretching but for the age and mileage I feel like it looks very good.

We question this cars' owner, but no answers. Makes one wonder about the sincerity for the sale and the eventual answers.

Couple questions. The current Odometer shows the 39k miles, so did Ferrari note that they added the original odometer reading to the new odometer for an accurate recording? So is it a real and documented 39k miles, or 39k miles plus the old odometer reading?

I ask due to having a similar reporting of inaccurate Milage on CarFax where Ferrari didn’t add the old Milage, so the next registration showed a Milage discrepancy, but was later corrected and documented when Ferrari added the old Milage and documented the repair.

Sorry if it has been answered, but I missed it and pics of the old odometer if it was, so what is the Actual Milage of this car?

Could not find speedometer pic...what mileage is on it? How many times was the car repainted? See pics 42, 43, 44 extremely loaded with orange peel.... black , well-kept paint should be able to see clear reflections in it. Looks like rust bubbles in other pictures, i.e., near windshield trim. Is the dash leather shrunk at all?

Has this car been recently smogged? Does it still have it CATs? Any visible rust on the frame? Other than the sunroof, does everything else work (including adjustable suspension)?

Odometer failed and was replaced by Ferrari , the original Speedometer is included with sale. For what it’s worth the title isn’t branded only shows on Carfax.

  • THEOTHERBORIS (registered bidder) 4 monthsago

    Reason for a branded title?
