Produced from 1969 until 1996 under the Land Rover division of British Leyland and later by the Rover Group, the original Range Rover is a utilitarian midsize 4x4 which served as a popular offroad vehicle as well as the basis for ambulances, rescue trucks, hunting cars, and even the Popemobile. This four-door 1989 example is said to have undergone a complete frame-off restoration in 2020 by SNT Customs and features an upgraded 2.5VM diesel engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, LED lights, a custom sound system, a reversing camera, a heavy-duty suspension kit, and a reupholstered Hermes Brown leather interior. This first-generation Range Rover restomod is now being offered for auction by its seller out of France while showing approximately 148k kilometers on the odometer.

The Range Rover's body was separated from its frame and refinished in the current grey brown paint color during its restoration. The frame, undercarriage, and axles were refinished in gloss black, and the brake calipers, driveshaft, fuel tank, and suspension components are painted grey. The body is contrasted by a black-painted roof and features aftermarket LED headlamps, integrated LED driving lights, and tinted taillights. The truck rides on aftermarket black-painted wheels that were dressed in new Nexen Roadian tires within the last year. The original 15” gunmetal grey wheels are also said to be included. The cabin has been completely restored and lined with new black carpeting and headliner contrasted by wood trim pieces and Hermes Brown leather upholstery on the seats, door panels, center console, and gear knob. It features a full custom sound system including a subwoofer and a digital head unit with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, and an integrated rearview camera. Other features include power seats, central door locks, and electric windows. The seller notes the speedometer needle tends to shake and the coolant level warning light appears regardless of the coolant level.

Power comes from a replacement 2.5-liter VM Motori inline 4-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that drives all four wheels. The seller notes a new clutch was installed during the restoration along with new brakes, hoses, silent blocks, fluids, filters, and a Britpart heavy-duty suspension kit.
