Marking the end of a production run that began in 1971, this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL represents the final year of the R107 series and was the range-topping SL-Class roadster offered in North America. It comes finished in Petrol Blue Green Metallic over a Beige leather interior and is equipped with a 5.6-liter V8 engine. Said to have spent its life in California while cared for by two owners since new, this 560SL is now being offered for auction with just over 55k miles showing on the odometer.
This R107 is finished in Petrol Blue Green Metallic (877) with a matching removable hardtop, custom tan pinstriping, and a black cloth convertible roof. Equipment includes a front air dam, chrome bumpers and trim, quad headlamps, front fog lights, dual chrome mirrors, a trunk-mounted brake light, an automatic antenna, and chrome 15” Gullideckel wheels. The seller notes that new Michelin tires were mounted about 2 years ago and some small blemishes are depicted in the photo gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, this SL is appointed with Beige leather (275) upholstery complemented by matching carpets, wood veneers, and a black upper dashboard. Accessories include power windows, a folding center armrest, a leather four-spoke steering wheel, automatic climate control, a heated rear window, an outside temperature indicator, sun visors with illuminated vanity mirrors, and a Becker Grand Prix AM/FM cassette stereo. The seller notes the air conditioning system has been updated and remains fully functional along with all other accessories and gauges.
A fuel-injected 5.6-liter V8 SOHC engine is mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission that delivers up to 227 HP and 287 lb.-ft of torque to the rear. Stopping power comes from power-assisted disc brakes at each corner. The suspension includes double wishbones in front, a diagonal swing axle in the rear, and stabilizer bars at the front and rear. The seller notes all maintenance has been kept up to date and the air/fuel meter has been replaced.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, two keys, some documentation, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This 560SL’s color combination is rare and stunning. The car is ready to go and enjoy for years. Always pampered, and the '560sl issues' have been addressed.”

@bigvitty4u thanks for the information
@JoeyBenz hello. No paintwork I can see. Oil service done recently. I don't believe the spare has been used. I believe 2 owners.
How many owners? Has it been repainted anywhere? Has the spare been used? What type of service was done recently? Thanks Joe

My previous Mercedes Sl was a 1979 SLC. A most beautiful Euro version that I kept for 15 years but unfortunately sold too long ago.
If I get this SL, I would install the Euro bumpers and headlights to make it the way the designers tended it to look. Unfortunately our congress dictated the need for USA models to have the massive 5 MPH bumpers that ruined the look of these cars.
But i will fix that problem. Promise!
