Representing the final year of the R107 generation Mercedes-Benz SL-Class roadster and the most powerful variant offered in North America, this 1989 Mercedes-Benz 560SL is finished in Signal Red over Palomino leather upholstery. It was acquired by the current owner in 2022 from a close friend who purchased the car in 2014. Garage-stored and meticulously maintained, this 560SL is now being offered for auction out of Florida with less than 32k miles showing on the odometer.
This R107 was factory specified in Signal Red with a black retractable soft top and a body-color removable hard top. Standard equipment includes chrome bumpers, mirrors, and body moldings, as well as a front air dam, fog lights, an automatic antenna, a dual-tipped muffler, and silver 15” Gullideckel alloy wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Palomino leather upholstery with a matching lower dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Appointments include a black four-spoke steering wheel, a wood-trimmed center console, power windows, air conditioning, an analog clock, a locking glovebox, an outside temperature gauge, and a folding front armrest. A Nakamichi head unit and k40 alarm system have been installed, and the original head unit will accompany the sale.
The fuel-injected 5.6-liter V8 engine delivers up to 227 HP and 287 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 4-speed automatic transmission. Standard equipment includes power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, double-wishbone front suspension, a diagonal swing axle in the rear, and front & rear stabilizer bars. The seller adds that the suspension was recently serviced, with documentation provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, and sales literature.
The seller would like you to know: “This example has 31k original miles. It has been garage-kept and meticulously cared for.”

Hi there, fantastic car you have. Could you confirm if the air-conditioning is functioning and if so, is it still running R12 or has it been converted to R134? Lastly, how is the steering gearbox on the car? I know they can be prone to leaks. Thank you
