Up for auction, is a 1-owner 1989 911 25th Anniversary edition. As well as being manufactured in limited numbers, this very special model is one of the final G-body coupes produced by Porsche. Only 300 were manufactured worldwide with only 60 finished in Satin Black Metallic. This car was purchased new and driven by its original owner just 54,887 miles. Due to oxidation and some minor damage to the front fender, the car received a high quality paint job, which shows very well. This is a solid 1-owner car with tight and correct gaps. Photos show the original interior to have the perfect amount of patina for the cars age and mileage.
The seller reports that the original 3.2L Carrera motor runs strong and the G50 5-speed transaxle shifts smoothly through all of the gears. As the photos show, the original Fuchs are in very nice condition as well as the factory original spoiler. The original dash looks brand new and the lenses are clear and bright. A new engine sound pad was recently installed along with turn signal switch. The power sunroof motor does work but the cables need to be replaced preventing it to fully open. The A/C motor works as well.
The seller serviced the car at an air-cooled Porsche specialist located just blocks from his home. He is also able to provide a handful of records dating back over a decade. The records, original tools and books, will be included with the sale.
At this time, the 25th Anniversary Special Edition 911 may be the best collectible value in the air-cooled Porsche. If history has told us anything, this will not last. As a limited production vehicle, the car received special features. It was only available in two colors, had special piping on the seats along with, CD holder, leather-wrapped center console, steering wheel, knee bar, shift knob, and boot.
