This 1989 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe is finished in Grand Prix White over a Burgundy partial leather interior. Representing the final model year of the 911 Carrera 3.2, this 1989 example features a desirable G50 5-speed manual transmission and came factory-equipped with a limited-slip differential, a Blaupunkt radio, an electric sliding sunroof, and cruise control. Modifications include an RS-style ducktail, widened Turbo-style fender flares, and Maxlite wheels. Originally sold in Massachusetts, this Carrera was acquired by the third and current owner in 2020. This 1989 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New Hampshire while showing approximately 86k miles on the odometer.

This 911 is finished in Grand Prix White and presents an optional front spoiler. While it was originally optioned with a Turbo "whale tail" rear spoiler and Grand Prix White-finished Fuchs wheels, it has since been modified with widened Turbo-style fender flares, an RS-style ducktail, and 16" staggered-width Maxilite wheels measuring 7" up front and 9" out back with Bridgestone Potenza tires. The factory staggered-width 16" Fuchs wheels are said to accompany the sale, and 3M protective coating covers the rear end of the vehicle. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin is appointed with Burgundy partial leather upholstery and features a factory-optioned short-throw shifter, an elevated steering wheel hub, and a power-operated sunroof. Additional equipment includes cruise control, Blaupunkt radio, a HiFi sound system, an amplifier, and black velour luggage compartment lining. The seller added a 917-style throttle pedal and wood shift knob. The A/C compressor was removed when the ducktail was installed and the seller indicates that the system was fully functional at the time of removal. The original A/C parts are said to accompany the sale.

This Carrera is powered by an air-cooled 3.2-liter flat-six engine that sends up to 217 HP to the rear wheels by way of a sought-after G50 5-speed manual transmission. A limited-slip differential was equipped from the factory and a new clutch was installed within the last 10k miles. The engine was recently rebuilt and features a host of new items including an exhaust, intake valves, Mahle pistons & cylinders, oil tubes, crank and temperature sensors, head studs, a rear main seal, and an oil pressure switch. The seller adds that two new rear Bilstein shocks have been installed and the catalytic converter was replaced with a crossover pipe within the last 3k miles.

This sale will include a New Hampshire registration, a spare tire, a toolkit, an air pump, sales literature, a catalytic converter, Fuchs wheels, A/C components, the Turbo "whale tail" spoiler, and owner’s manuals.

The seller would like you to know: “I have known this car since June of 2002 when my close friend acquired it from the original owner. I purchased it from him in October of 2020.  The original paint is in excellent condition. Since June of 2002, it is said to have always been garaged and not driven in winter. I have the original parts including the Fuchs wheels, A/C components, catalytic converter, and the Turbo Tail. The new tires have less than 300 miles.”

@britco4 I have all parts. The condenser is on the underside of the turbo tail. Just have to hook up hoses and add a pump pulley to the fan to run the pump.

Being here in Texas, I need to ask what would be required to bring the A/C back into working condition? Are all the necessary parts included? GLWTA

@Mccheez I’ve been trying to source 930 rocker panels but haven’t been able to find any. I put tape strips on to protect the area. No rust on either side.

  • Mccheez (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

There appears to be some mild bubbling on the Rockers> Is this rust or just dents?

  • pfh911rs (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

@Squires911 hello I believe it’s at the US required ride height for bumper regs. I remember lowering some of my old 911s back down to Euro spec for that very reason.

  • Squires911 (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

Super nice example and love the wide body clean outlawed look. But man, it sits like a Dakar 911. Needs to be lowered considerably which would totally change the look and increase appeal! Nice 911. GLWTS!

  • pfh911rs (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

@twickes40 hi. Car came with box rockers like the ones they used to put on the 930 slant nose. I took them off and put tape on to protect the panels. No rust underneath. Good eyes!

Also, would you be able to post a cold start and driving video?

    Thanks

  • twickes40 (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

@pfh911rs love the color combo. What's on the rockers? Tape? Is it bubbling because of rust or lack of adhesion?

  • pfh911rs (seller) 4 months, 1 weekago

@Coldbru hi. All 4 turbo steel flares were added sometime before 2002. There is no evidence of any collision damage including in the attached Carfax. I recently added the invoice for the engine rebuild to the website. All new pistons , cylinders, valves etc. fan was done at the same time. I’m always willing to take a call if that would help.

I’m at Sea Cliff, NY. Gps says 4 hours. It might be tough to get up there this week with Christmas. Can I just ask you some questions please,

are the front fenders original to the car?
The panel fit where the fender meets the door looks off at least in the photo.

Any indication of accidents for this car?

What type of engine work has been done if any. The fan looks refurbished.

@Coldbru Flares are steel. Ride height hasn’t been adjusted since 2002. If it was done it had to be before then.

  • Coldbru (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

And more importantly, seller, can you please comment on the ride height. Has it been adjusted? It looks a little higher than an otherwise normally would.

  • Coldbru (registered bidder) 4 months, 1 weekago

The car has clearly been painted, you can see the masking lines on the driver side inner door jam. My question is are the turbo fender flares that were added steel or fiberglass.?

@windsurfar hello. Less than 1k miles on the rebuild. Have receipts and my mechanic is willing to chat if you want. I ordered a paint meter to check the paint. If there was a respray it was done before 6/02. I will post meter reading once it get it. I’m always willing to talk if you want.

  • windsurfar (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

Greetings. Nice looking 911 for sure. What do you mean by "recent" engine rebuild? Do you have the receipts for the engine work and parts. Thanks. BTW most likely not original paint as i would suspect the car was repainted when the fender flares were done?

@acanet88 I uploaded some close ups of the underside. Let me know if this helps

  • pfh911rs (seller) 4 months, 2 weeksago

@acanet88 hello. I don’t have access to a lift but I will do the best I can. I have never seen any rust over the past 22 years. The front and rear turbo flares are steel and have been on since I first saw it in 2002.

  • acanet88 (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

Cool car! Can you please add more photos of the underside of the car? I would like to see what possible rust issues there may be. I would also like to know about the widening of the rear end, materials, and whatnot. Very interested.
