A full custom restoration by Abreu Motors, this 1989 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Coupe has been fitted with backdated long hood bodywork, a bespoke leather and suede interior, upgraded Brembo brakes, Ohlins suspension, and a rebuilt 3.9-liter flat-six engine. Finished in Basalt Black Metallic, it also showcases 17” Fuchs-style wheels, 9Eleven headlights, Vitesse Classic bucket seats, vintage Tag Heuer rally timers, custom 935-style aluminum exhaust tips, a carbon fiber strut tower brace, Wevo engine mounts, an electric A/C system, a Porsche Classic (PCCM) stereo, and a Harmony sound system. This no-expense-spared 964 backdate is now being offered for auction out of Florida.
This 964 was disassembled, stripped, and refinished in Basalt Black Metallic (C9Z) along with the fitment of a custom backdated hood, fenders, bumpers, and decklid. The car received projector-style 9Eleven headlights, polished aluminum trim, a ducktail-style spoiler, a chrome decklid grille, gold badging, Mobil Pegasus fender decals, custom aluminum 935-style center-mounted tailpipes, dual polished aluminum mirrors, silver Brembo brakes calipers, and 17” Fuchs-style wheels with gold-painted centers. The seller notes the windshield and rear window were installed using OEM rubber seals and the full exterior is preserved under XPEL paint protection film.
The cabin features black leather and suede upholstery with deviated gold stitching, gold leather stripes, and a gold-painted lower tub. Details include custom Vitesse Classic sport seats with ventilation grommets, basketweave leather door panels with leather pull straps, a bespoke aluminum shifter, a leather-wrapped dashboard, a custom striped tachometer, polished aluminum accents, gold door strikers, a gold ignition lock surround, engraved “Sport Edition” door sills, and a leather-lined luggage compartment. The car also features ambient lighting, power door locks, an electric sunroof, a Porsche Classic Communication Management (PCCM) Bluetooth stereo, a Harmony sound system, an amplifier, an electric air conditioning system, and restored vintage Tag Heuer rally stopwatches mounted on the dashboard.
The car’s air-cooled M64 flat-six engine has been rebuilt and bored to a 3.9-liter displacement by Emegatronic of Connecticut. It features upgraded Wevo engine mounts, a custom carbon fiber cover, and a dual-exit exhaust system. A claimed output of approximately 330 HP is sent to all four wheels through a resealed 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. The car also features upgraded Bilstein coilovers, a carbon fiber front strut tower brace, and Brembo brakes with cross-drilled rotors. The seller is providing a 1-year/1k-mile warranty on the engine and transmission.

@woopcar That's a great question. Unfortunately, the Supersport was constructed piece by piece, and these components won't fit the backdated models without modifications, which would defeat the purpose. The best approach is to build a Supersport from the ground up. I've just shared a photo of the Supersport, highlighting the significant differences.

Note: The 3.9L engine was rebuilt in collaboration with our friends at Emegatronic in Connecticut. Bore: 104mm, Stroke: 76.4mm. The engine is performing exceptionally well, with no oil leaks or seepage at all. 🏁🏁

@Evo-Auto The car is equipped with the Porsche PCCM, designed by Porsche to offer contemporary music features while honoring the vehicle's heritage. The PCCM includes wired Apple CarPlay, which can be upgraded to a wireless connection using an Otto adapter. Although this particular car does not have the adapter installed, we have successfully added it to other vehicles.

@twistedsociety the cream one was a 1980ish SC and yes was a garage project. Sold on BAT for $55. The one I was referring to was guards red and very nice but not sure if it went for $300+.

@JJensen The odometer hasn't been changed since it was built; according to Carfax, it's the original factory odometer.
@Campopiano was that the cream one with brown interior? If so, I’ve seen it in person, and unfortunately, it leaves a lot to be desired. Especially when you compare it with this one. There is a night and day difference on the attention to detail.

@Lamacho I had a 1990 pristine 964 that I fold in feb 2021 before the Porsche 964 freak show started on price.. miss mine . Oem still draws highest price do right kept it oem down to the wheel size or do a full blown backdating . The last non- singer backdated 964 I saw went for $350,000 2 years ago. 2 OEM 1990 sold in oct 2021 for $100 each less than 25,000 miles

@SILOmike The factory weight of the Carrera 4 Coupe is approximately 3,200 lbs. After all the modifications, we've shed about 320 lbs, bringing our total down to around 2,880 lbs.

I have seen this car in person. It is spectacular and the level of detail is insane. I own two Abreu Motors Backdate’s. The time and quality that goes in these 911’s is amazing. Fabie’s cars are such a joy to ride and handle better then when they came from the factory.

Just a quick note: the car features a cool ambient lighting in the cabin, which can be adjusted using the black switch located to the left of the headlight knob. Additionally, the car will include a 40-page leather-bound book featuring several photos of the build process.
@ChadGee I appreciate the kind words! The car looks amazing in person and drives incredibly well. Since the engine is brand new, I didn't share any leak down or compression results. It does come with a warranty. I plan to take the car to a local dyno soon and will share the results here in a couple of days.

Please note: I have a batch of custom-ordered titanium hardware for these builds that are arriving In about five days, I will be going through the car to replace many of the standard nuts and bolts with titanium ones.

Note: The carbon fiber engine cover can be easily removed if the new owner prefers the original factory appearance.
I have taken off the 911 emblem from the rear decklid. It was removed previously for PPF application and has since lost its original shape and attachment. I have a brand new emblem that can either be included with the car or installed here before it leaves.

@chuckent These are metal flares. We created our own version, which is slightly narrower, but it still delivers that classic stance appearance.
