Finished in Basalt Black Metallic, it also showcases 17” Fuchs-style wheels, 9Eleven headlights, Vitesse Classic bucket seats, vintage Tag Heuer rally timers, custom 935-style aluminum exhaust tips, a carbon fiber strut tower brace, Wevo engine mounts, an electric A/C system, a Porsche Classic (PCCM) stereo, and a Harmony sound system. This no-expense-spared 964 backdate is now being offered for auction once again by its seller out of Florida.

This 964 was disassembled, stripped, and refinished in Basalt Black Metallic (C9Z) along with the fitment of a custom backdated hood, fenders, bumpers, and decklid. The car received projector-style 9Eleven headlights, polished aluminum trim, a ducktail-style spoiler, a chrome decklid grille, gold badging, Mobil Pegasus fender decals, custom aluminum 935-style center-mounted tailpipes, dual polished aluminum mirrors, silver Brembo brakes calipers, and 17” Fuchs-style wheels with gold-painted centers. The seller notes the windshield and rear window were installed using OEM rubber seals and the full exterior is preserved under XPEL paint protection film.

The car’s air-cooled M64 flat-six engine has been rebuilt and bored to a 3.9-liter displacement by Emegatronic of Connecticut. It features upgraded Wevo engine mounts, a custom carbon fiber cover, and a dual-exit exhaust system. A claimed output of approximately 330 HP is sent to all four wheels through a resealed 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. The car also features upgraded Ohlins coilovers, a carbon fiber front strut tower brace, and Brembo brakes with cross-drilled rotors. The seller is providing a 1-year/1k-mile warranty on the engine and transmission.

This sale will include a clean title.

    Beautiful car. For my education, the back seats are non-functonal, correct? Doesn't look like it has seat belts?

    How many miles since restoration

    @Wuliangye I truly value your feedback. You're right; without having 300 employees and millions in funding, it's challenging to create these at this level of quality for a lower cost. We are a boutique shop, and I have my hands on all the cars.

  • Wuliangye (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

    As a hobby I build "Outlaws" The quality of this build I would rate as A+. Considering the cost of the donor car today, along with the extensive detail of this build, also consider a 2 year build period this car is currently way below market value. It needs to exceed $400,000 to cover expenses.

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

    @AC9 I'm not sure. It seems it was in a service department in 2020, which might have been an error. From what I can see on Carfax, it was repaired shortly after that. When I brought the car in, it had already registered 32,000 miles.

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

    @Craiguf I just posted the photos. Unfortunately I was unable not able to get the car on the Dyno.

    What's the story behind the odometer going from <70,000 down to approx 32,000 miles?

    Interesting….the sudden jump in bid amounts near end of auction.

    Do you have the dyno results and engine pics sans carbon manifold?

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 1 weekago

    Hi everyone,
    Happy bidding! I wanted to let you know that the car is currently in my shop. I've thoroughly inspected and serviced it, addressing all fluids, the AC, and any minor details that needed attention. I recently took the car for a drive and can confirm it's in excellent condition. Additionally, I’ve installed a cool dimmable amber ambient light in the cabin for nighttime driving. Best of luck, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions!

    @ACFAN Hello!

    Happy New Year to you all 🏁🏁

    No problem at all with your questions. I appreciate your interest! The carbon cover looked great, but it was slightly touching the manifold, so I decided to remove it. It can be redesigned and reattached easily. I’ll take a few photos of the engine this morning without the cover and share them with you.

    Additionally, the decals are under the PPF, which was applied perfectly throughout the entire car. As for the weight, the car is approximately 2800 pounds and has about 300 hp. Bid with confidence—it drives and handles fantastic!

    Thanks again!

    Seller, very nice work, beautiful. A few questions: (I apologize if I missed any of this.) Are there photos of the motor post-carbon I didn't catch? What does the car weigh? Also, are the decals under the PPF? Thanks.

    Hey everyone,
    I'm at the shop now, getting ready to put the car on the DynoJet. I'll share the results shortly!

  • ScoobyDone (registered bidder) 1 month, 1 weekago

    Woah! what a meticulous and beautifully done build. The best of everything done is such a tasteful manner. I 've never known why the 964 wasn't as loved as other 911s- I owned a 1989 Carrera 4 and it was the smoothest handling and funest to drive of all my Porsches. Now, with this expertly done backdate including all the RIGHT GOODIES, this is THE car to belong in my garage. I am just short a couple $100,000 or so . . GLTWA ! !

    This car is in deal tank and a live auction at the same time?

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    @RASKL Hi there! I replaced the metal shifter because it was a two-piece design, and one part was beginning to separate, which was uncomfortable to use. As for the tachometer, I simply chose a different style for personal preference; it can be customized in various colors and designs based on what someone likes. Thank you!

  • Damaho912 1 month, 2 weeksago

    Gorgeous! About the best thing you can do to a 964…backdate it!

  • RASKL (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    Two curiosity questions: 1) why did you swap the shifter for a wooden one? And 2) why is the tachometer different than back when this car was sold by Merit Partners? Thank you.

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    Please note that the vintage Tag Heuer rally timers are from the 1960s and have been fully restored in the UK, with a value of $5,000.

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    @ei8hty8 Hello,

    The body components, including the hood and fenders, are made of steel made by us. The front and rear bumpers are custom fiberglass also made by us. The little duck tail is fiberglass as well. The fenders feature an ST-style design, which differs from those of the Turbo models. As for the Ohlins suspension, it is tailored for road and track use. The backdated stance of the car is set at 25 inches in height, compared to 24.5 inches for some factory models.

  • ei8hty8 1 month, 2 weeksago

    Hello Fabie - the updated body parts, hood, fenders, bumpers etc are steel vs carbon fiber correct? and the fenders are Porsche OEM ones from the 930 turbo, or at least the measurement and design specs are the 930 turbo ones? if not what was the design basis or inspiration. Regarding the Ohlins kit, which version or specs is it? adjustable for any damping? The car sits how many inches lower than stock now? thanks

    Hey everyone, I'm currently trying to schedule an appointment to get the car tested on a Dyno. Also posting photos of the new bespoke mahogany gear shifter….

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    @robertschachtesq PMB performance offers a kit priced at approximately $5k. We handle all plumbing and other work in-house. This setup works great for these cars, as it removes the compressor from the rear of the engine bay, enhancing overall performance.

  • robertschachtesq (registered bidder) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    Who makes the electric air conditioner?

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    @52172 Ohlins.

  • 52172 1 month, 2 weeksago

    Says Ohlins suspension then goes on to say Bilstein? So which is it? Might want to correct that.

  • AbreuMotors (seller) 1 month, 2 weeksago

    Hey everyone, just a couple of updates: the car was previously shown with a carbon engine cover, but it has been removed for better fitment. Additionally, the metal gear shifter has been replaced with a custom mahogany wood one. I’ll share some photos soon.
