Up for auction is this 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo presented in Satin Black Metallic over a Burgundy partial leather interior. Representing Porsche’s most successful front-engine sports car, this 944 highlights desirable factory options including power adjustable Sports Seats and an electric sliding sunroof. Accompanied by a long list of recent service items and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity, this exceptional 1989 example is now being offered for auction in fantastic driver-grade condition showing approximately 84k miles on the odometer.
The understated Satin Black Metallic finish is stated to be in nice condition with some minor signs of road going wear, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery. The seller indicates that the front hood has been professionally refinished for cosmetic purposes. Although the rest of the paint is believed to be factory, the seller notes that there is some slight paint discoloration on the driver’s side door. Factory features include a rear window wiper (currently inoperable) and chrome 5-spoke wheels which come wrapped in new Toyo Proxes tires.
The Burgundy partial leather upholstered interior is shown to be in excellent condition for its age. A generously equipped example, this 944 is optioned with the factory HiFi Sound System, Amplifier System, Blaupunkt “Reno” radio, cruise control, electric sliding sunroof and Sport Seats with power height adjustment. The seller notes that the front seats wear covers due to some cracking in the original material and that the upgraded sound system is currently nonfunctional. All other electrical components, gauges and accessories remain in good working order.
Built to the same specifications as the previous model year’s Turbo S, this 1989 Turbo is powered by a 2.5L turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 250 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed manual transmission making for a claimed 0-60 time of 5.7 seconds. Hello. Is that a vent to atmosphere catch can behind the passenger strut tower? The original seat upholstery is underneath those covers? How is the carpet underneath the driver floor mat? Thanks in advance!
