This 1989 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Coupe was discovered in 2021 after it had been parked in storage for almost 10 years and was subsequently treated to a comprehensive restoration beginning in 2022. The car is presented in its original combination of Guards Red over a Cashmere Beige interior and has been customized with 18” FVD Brombacher Fuchs wheels along with a MOMO Prototipo steering wheel, custom Guards Red seatbelts, H&R lowering springs, a Vertex muffler, and Sun-Tek ceramic window tint. The 3.6-liter engine was also rebuilt by the AirCooled Collection in Miami including new 993-style head studs, machined heads, a custom-painted alternator fan, black powder-coated tins, and a new OEM clutch kit. This 964 has been driven less than 2k miles since the restoration was completed and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida while showing approximately 77k miles on the odometer.
The seller indicates the Guards Red paint is original and was refreshed with professional paint correction and ceramic coating during the restoration. The car has been customized with European-style clear side marker lenses, clear 3M ceramic front windshield film, Sun-Tek ceramic window tints, and 18” FVD Brombacher Fuchs wheels measuring 8.5” wide in front and 10” wide in the rear. These wheels are fitted with colored Porsche crest center caps and Falken Azenis RT615K+ tires (2021). The seller states that some minor blemishes are present which are consistent with the vehicle’s age and mileage including small chips on the front bumper and hood as well as a small crack on the automatically deploying rear spoiler. The sale will also include the original wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the Cashmere Beige partial leather interior has been modified with a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel and custom Guards Red seatbelts in the front and rear. Refurbishments during the restoration included new power window switches, new all-season rubber floor mats, and a new OEM ABS relay with an integrated fuse. Accessories include power windows and mirrors, power-adjustable seats, an electric sunroof, cruise control, air conditioning, a central locking system, a rear window wiper, headlight washers, and a Blaupunkt Reno SQR 46 radio. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional and the sale will include the original four-spoke steering wheel.
Rated at 247 HP, the air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine was completely rebuilt to factory specifications by the AirCooled Collection of Miami, Florida, in March 2023 including machined heads by Vertex Auto, new 993-style head studs, a new OEM clutch kit, a custom Guards Red alternator fan, a new sound insulation pad, and black powder-coated tins. All four wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed G50 manual transmission. The car has also been modified with H&R lowering springs and a Vertex side muffler. The seller states there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time and the sale will include the original springs and muffler.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, service records, and a clean title along with the original wheels, steering wheel, springs, and muffler.

Although the warranty period we provided to our customer has expired, we recently performed an oil change on the car and conducted a follow-up on the engine rebuild, which all looks great and sharp (This occurred a month ago). @smittone Certainly, thank you for your comment. We rebuilt this engine a few months ago (April 2023). The engine was performing well, but the head-studs were broken, and the car had a significant oil leak in various spots, a common issue for all 964 models. This is a beautiful and well-maintained example, and we aimed to preserve its cosmetic appearance while ensuring optimal performance. Our office is located in Brickell, but we have a separate mechanic and storage facility in Coral Gables, where the engine rebuild for this car took place. I did not personally rebuild it; instead, we enlisted an excellent Aircooled Porsche mechanic with over 40 years of experience in these types of vehicles. He was the mastermind behind the engine rebuild for this 964. All the necessary parts for this build were provided by Vertex Automotive, a highly reputable source in South Florida for Aircooled Porsches, and you can find the list of parts in pictures #211 & #212. I hope this information proves helpful.
Can you provide any additional information on the engine rebuild? I searched for your shop online but only got an office building address. From the photos it looks like you did the rebuild yourself in your garage. Not saying you didn't do a good job, just looking for peace of mind.

@JOSEJUAN The car's air conditioning works excellently; it has been driven daily in Miami's weather conditions for the past few months, and it consistently begins cooling as soon as the car is started. The ceramic tints all around the vehicle also make the job easier for the A/C, reducing the heat entering the cabin by 80%. As far as I know, the shock absorbers are the originals paired with the H&R Sport Springs, and they work great.
How is the air conditioning working? Could you include photos of the cooling temperature? How are the shock absorbers? Are they the original ones?
911 964. One of the best bodies for zinger to create a million dollar car. If only I was a rich man. I would be all over this beast.

@smittone I don't have compression leak-down numbers, and I wasn't planning on getting them. This is a true driver's car, the engine was recently rebuilt with less than 2,000 miles, running strong and smoothly. The car is fast. It's not your usual garage-kept showpiece; instead, it's a driver's car that can handle some serious mileage and it would take it like a champ!
