Introduced in 1990 as the ultimate high-performance version of the C4 Corvette, the ZR-1 came equipped with an all-aluminum 5.7L V8 LT5 engine developed in collaboration with Lotus. This launch-year example is finished in Bright Red over a Gray leather interior. It was acquired by the seller in August of 2017 at just 24,541 miles and underwent a major service in January 2023 including new fuel injectors and stainless-steel Magnaflow mufflers. Showing less than 26k miles on the odometer, this well-preserved ZR-1 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.
Compared to a standard 1990 Corvette, the high-performance ZR-1 featured a wider tail section and a convex rear fascia with square taillights. This ZR-1 is finished in Bright Red and includes a removable transparent roof panel, pop-up headlights, fog lamps, fender vents, and power-adjustable and heated side mirrors. It rides on a set of staggered-width 17″ aluminum “Sawblade” wheels dressed in Nitto tires. Maintenance in January 2023 is said to have included new window felts on both doors along with new headlight gears.
The cabin is trimmed in Gray leather with adjustable sport bucket seats included as part of the ZR-1 Performance Package. The driver is provided with a trip computer, power windows, a Delco-Bose Gold Series stereo with a cassette and CD player, and automatic climate control. The seller notes the A/C system has been updated to R134a and remains fully functional along with the power seat bolsters and tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS).
Developed in collaboration with Lotus, the all-aluminum 32-valve quad-cam 5.7L V8 is rated at 375 HP and 370lb.-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a ZF 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential. The suspension includes a three-mode Selective Ride and Handling package with Bilstein FX3 shock absorbers. Service in January 2023 is said to have included all 16 fuel injectors replaced, new fuel pumps, a power-steering line replaced, a new air filter, an oil change, and new stainless-steel Magnaflow mufflers.

Just sold my ride and actively in this market. Curious of your comment about ‘realistic’ price. Talking to a few other sellers and before I engage in an auction that could find me on the outside and letting other buys slide, I’d love clarification on realistic.

All of my sellers are realistic with their selling price, and their cars are all sorted out before being posted for sale. I have never driven a ZR1 and must say that it's vastly different than a 'normal' C4. I get to drive some amazing cars and this one made me grin ear to ear with it's massive acceleration. All that power and it still feels like it's got control ~ while some other powerful cars the feeling of security is not there.
