We are pleased to offer this 1990 Jaguar Series II XJS V12 Convertible, a lifelong show car with a concours pedigree and illustrious provenance.  Said to have spent its life during the 1990s being carefully looked after while participating and excelling in Jaguar Club North America (JCNA) concours events, this example eventually caught the eye of Charles Bennett, founder of Zymol, in 2000 and was subsequently purchased through his company.  Ever since, this Jaguar has enjoyed life as a promotional show car for Zymol while always being trailered to and from events when not in climate-controlled storage at the Zymol headquarters.  Today, this five-time Best in Class National Concours Winner is being offered out of the Zymol collection in Florida while remaining in absolute immaculate original condition with only 29k miles showing on the odometer.  This exceptional Jaguar will be accompanied by original books, tools, records, concours trophies, a sales brochure featuring this very car, and a Jaguar-specific Zymol Complete Detailing Kit with complimentary refills included for life.

Said to have rarely ever been exposed to the elements or driven on the street in the last 20 years, the Jet-Black paint is reported to be entirely original and in pristine overall condition, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery.  Among the accolades earned over the years are official JCNA concours judging sheets showing 99.96 out of 100 points possible.  Exterior details include a black convertible top with matching boot cover, chrome exterior mirrors and trim, a front air dam, and factory 15” Lattice wheels that remain dressed in their original Pirelli P600 tires.  The original rubber has been preserved in excellent condition with Zymol “Seal”, and an additional set of brand-new tires will also be shipped to the next owner.

The cabin is trimmed in Barley beige leather with decorative Burled Walnut veneers throughout.   Other details include polished door sill plates with logos, power accessories, a rear storage cubby behind the seats, air conditioning, and an original Jaguar radio.  The interior is said to be in virtually flawless condition while retaining the full functionality of all gauges and accessories.

Power is derived from a large 5.3 L HE V12 SOHC 24-valve engine that sends as much as 262 HP and 290 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a smooth 3-speed automatic transmission.  Routine oil service is said to have been performed by the in-house Zymol technicians, and the alternator belt was replaced in 2017 to maintain proper running order.  Only several hundred miles have been driven in the past two decades and this Jaguar is said to remain in superb mechanical condition.

This vehicle will be accompanied by a Jaguar-specific Zymol Complete Detailing Kit valued at over $370. A lifetime of complimentary refills will also be awarded to the next owner so they can preserve the car in the same immaculate condition for years to come.

Included in the sale of this impeccable XJS are a set of 2 keys, owner’s manuals, an original sales brochure featuring this car, a toolkit, spare tire, historical records, concours awards, and a Jaguar Complete Detailing Kit with complimentary refills included for life.  A clean and recently issued Florida title will also be included.  The perfect candidate for a variety of concours events and a perfect fit for any world-class automobile collection, this impeccably well preserved Jaguar XJS Convertible is just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner.

And yes the car runs exceptionally well!

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Everyone, thank you for your interest in this incredible car. I’m lifting the reserve and hope that this lovely lady finds a good home.

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Stews The battery is a new Optima Red Hat installed last week. The tires are in good original condition and show no signs of crazing or cracks.
I felt new tires were appropriate based on age so we purchased them an will ship them to the new owners address.

  • Stews (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Have you purchased the new tires already or could the cost be settled in cash to the buyer
So they wouldn’t have to be stored in FL and then shipped to my home state?

Are the present tires unsafe to drive on due to age and originality?

Is the battery good enough and can the car be loaded on a transport under its own power?

@Stews I just got confirmation from my caretaker that the passenger window is operating fine, however the driver window is stuck in the up position. I have confirmed the window motor has seized.
My local Jaguar dealer (Ocala) has the replacement on its way in and they will be installing it.
I will make sure she is absolutely ready for her new owner to pick up. Thank you for noticing this, the photographer didn’t.

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@Stews I will ask my caretaker tomorrow. When I saw the car last they were.

  • Stews (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Are the front windows fully operational? They appear to be in the full up
Position in all of the photos.

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@CLMcars Thank you for the good wishes. I can tell you understand our cars are family members with personalities, style and attitudes. Finding the right home with someone who understands loving a car is most the important goal!

  • CLMcars (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@cbennett Gosh, no. Not read as inappropriate by me. However, I'm afraid two cats in the garage is enough as the XJS shares space with an F-Type. Not sure I need a litter.

I do think this car looks stunning. And believe it has to be one of the nicest XJS' in the world. I hope a record price for you as it deserves it.

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@CLMcars I just realized my last comment might be thought inappropriate. I was referring to your XJS as the jealous lady. I apologize if I upset anyone. And yes, this may be the most perfect XJS.

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@CLMcars Well another jealous female.... Maybe your girl needs a ‘Sister’ ?

  • CLMcars (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

My XJS is screaming with jealousy... Is this the most perfect XJS in the world?

  • cbennett (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

@pcofer The photos of the Coolant Hoses and a photo of the Fuel line are now posted. To be sure my team’s information is accurate I personally felt the Hoses and Lines which are perfect.

@pcofer Hello and thank you for your message.
All we have done is oil changes, coolant draining and replenishment and the replacement of the Alternator belt.
The coolant hoses are firm and not cracked or soft.
    The fuel lines are solid.
There is a new Battery in the car and a new set of tires that will be shipped to the new owner since the car is sitting on the original Pirelli P600’s.
I will have my team photograph the coolant lines and the fuel lines tomorrow and post them.
She is a sweet car and I hope someone like yourself gets an opportunity to love her.

  • pcofer (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

Hi, what a beautiful car. I have owned several XJS V12 convertibles and the maintenance on these 30-year-old cars is very important. Just curious if the fuel lines and cooling hoses have been replaced? Do you have the maintenance records for this vehicle? Thanks in advance, would love the bid on this vehicle.

@Nadir It’s interesting how so many people harbor deep love for a car they once owned or if they are fortunate, love for a car they can touch every day. I often thought this Jaguar would be well loved sharing a great room with a black grand piano.
The cars we love are an example of the engineering and art of the day.

  • Nadir 3 years, 2 monthsago

    @Nadir lovers not livers typo

  • Nadir 3 years, 2 monthsago

Thank you - good to hear more are on the way.
I have been lucky in that I have owned cars valued at more than a million dollars.
But the great thing that only car livers will understand is that the classic car world unites in love of great cars - I get just as much pleasure in seeing this immaculate Jaguar which may well for well under $50,000 as of seeing a $2m Lamborghini Mitra. It is all about seeing cars enjoyed. Having said that, my cars tend to do very high mileage - I can understand me. Zymol has reasons for low mileage but I find it sad to see great cars not driven. I owned a Carrera GT and did 5,000 miles in one year in it, many have done 2,000 in 15 years - it makes no sense.

@Nadir I tried to like your comment and I’m not sure if I push the right button! Boy this computer stuff really confuses me...
I may have some more automotive goodies for future collectors.
Thank you so much for your comment!!!

  • Nadir 3 years, 2 monthsago

@cbennett after the Honda NSX and this, what other goodies are you selling in the near future? Simply amazing cars!

Well everyone here is the most conservative and sexiest car in the world. Now I know this is just my opinion but you had to experience the ooos and aahs followed by the cheers this sweetheart received at all the Jaguar National Concours.
This 99 point beauty is every bit original as the day she was built except for an alternator belt.
I fell in love with this car at the 2000 Jaguar Concours and absolutely had to have her. We never drove her on the road, in fact we never registered and titled her until this week!!
This car has graced AutoWeek Magazine, Automobile Magazine, The Jaguar Journal and the Automotive Fine Arts Fund Brochure. She has been on display at 18 JCNA Events and has always been lovingly cared for by our detail team to keep her perfect.
I will make sure her new owner has the Zymol Factory products necessary to keep her always ready for 'Date Night'.
