Created by Akira Nakai of Rauh-Welt Begriff (RWB) in 2017, this 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 4 Coupe is the first RWB built in North Carolina and is designated at RWB USA #63. Nicknamed “Maverick”, this 964 was built with inspiration from Nakai-San’s personal car “Stella”, featuring Sepang Bronze Metallic paint with an RWB 964 Royal Wide Street Version widebody kit, RWB Champion wing, custom headlights, an adjustable Airlift air suspension, and custom RWB Work Meister S1 wheels. The cabin features Recaro bucket seats, Rennline accessories, Cargraphic carbon fiber trim, a rear seat delete, a painted roll cage, and a full custom sound system. The engine has also been refreshed and upgraded with Fabspeed headers, a custom stainless-steel exhaust, a reprogrammed ECU, and an updated mass airflow sensor. This one-of-a-kind RWB widebody 964 is now being offered for auction by its owner out of Georgia.
In 2017, this 964 was professionally refinished in the BMW Individual color of Sepang Bronze Metallic (A32). The RWB Royal Wide Street Version widebody kit was hand-fitted by Akira Nakai and includes wide bolt-on fender flares, bumpers, and optional Hakama side skirts. The build also features an RWB Champion rear wing, front canards, custom LED projector headlamps with RWB-engraved lenses, full LED exterior lighting, a 993 roof spoiler with an integrated brake light, paint-matched OEM brake calipers, and 19” RWB Work Meister S1 3P wheels with custom engraved lips. The car rides on new Nitto G2 and NT555 tires measuring 265/35R18 in front and 335/35R18 out back. The seller adds that special front bumper repair/alteration was approved by Nakai-San and extensive documentation for paintwork is available. Some chips and imperfections are present from normal driving conditions, a skid protector has been added to the lower front bumper, and clear paint protection film is applied on the rear fender flares. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage in 2017.
The black leather interior has been fitted with a pair of Recaro Speed bucket seats on Planted seat brackets and sliders with Takata 4-point racing harnesses. Other modifications include a rear seat delete, a custom-painted half roll cage, Cargraphic carbon fiber trim pieces, a three-spoke MOMO Prototipo steering wheel with a paint-matched center, a 1 of 12 short shifter, and a Rennline aluminum weighted shift knob, pedal set, and floorboards. The front trunk has been lined with new OEM carpeting and features a custom-painted air suspension tank.
The air-cooled 3.6-liter M64 flat-six engine was factory-rated at 247 HP and sends power to all four wheels through a 5-speed G50 manual transaxle. The engine has been serviced with new spark plugs, distributor caps and rotors, and custom ignition wires with Mini Tuck. It has also been modified with a Rennline carbon fiber heater bypass, cruise control, and blower delete, a chipped and reprogrammed ECU, an updated mass airflow sensor, Clewett Racing throttle position sensor, Fabspeed RSR headers with mini resonators, and a custom stainless-steel exhausts. The suspension features an Airlift Performance kit with 3P management, dual compressors, and a self-drain water tap. The seller adds that the clutch, differential, and brake fluids have been changed and a new Optima Redtop battery has been installed.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Available at auction for the first time is a stunning 1990 Porsche 911 C4, affectionately known as “Maverick.” This extraordinary vehicle has been transformed into an RWB (RAUH-Welt Begriff) masterpiece by the legendary Akira Nakai. Built in June 2017, Maverick holds the distinction of being the first RWB crafted by Nakai-San in North Carolina and is officially numbered RWB USA #63. Inspired by one of Nakai-San’s personal cars, the iconic “Stella.” It features the same aggressive stance and an inverse color palette, echoing the bold and unique RWB styling that Akira Nakai is renowned for. The name "Maverick" was chosen deliberately, symbolizing a person who thinks and acts independently, often defying expectations—a perfect homage to Nakai-San's trailblazing approach to car modification. RWB Maverick is more than just a modified car; it is a labor of love, a testament to the beauty of individuality and the artistry of automotive design. For me, Maverick embodies a dream realized—a fusion of precision engineering and creative expression. Owning Maverick has been a journey of passion and fulfillment, a manifestation of a vision that resonates deeply with the unconventional spirit it represents. This car is a celebration of those who dare to be different, who see beauty where others might not, and who appreciate the intricate artistry involved in creating something truly unique. Maverick is not just a vehicle; it’s an experience, a statement, a piece of art on wheels. Now, as I move forward, it’s time to pass this masterpiece on to someone who will cherish it as much as I have. Maverick is destined for someone who values art, embraces their individuality, and understands the profound connection between a person and their car. This isn’t just about owning a car; it’s about becoming a custodian of a legacy, a piece of history crafted by one of the most revered names in the world of custom cars.”

@GraemeKeith I have to agree. The way the Sepang Bronze engulfs the wide hips. Classy, agressive, sexy, and full of splendor.
One of the best looking RWB cars I've ever seen. Great job on the build. Looking forward to seeing how this one plays out.

@CharlieFerer Most Welcome. I would have to estimate curb weight to be close to factory with a few pieces coming off and few pieces being added. Example exhaust weighs 100 pounds less but wheels and tires come in with 50 pounds more total with all 4 accounted for. Speaking of exhaust she sounds proper loud the right note and the perfect note when it hits 5k.
Bid in the amount of $35,000
@RWBEastCoastUSA Thank you for the quick reply and that is excellent news (love the Fabspeed system with the piecut turn down that is on the car/pictured and will be perfectly LOUD! I assume curb weight is around stock so about 3,250 lbs so no need to weigh if you do not have on file.
@CharlieFerer Hello again, Maverick came in making around 200whp. Issues we found were the intake, barn door TB, and the exhaust. All these items were changed over including a custom exhaust using Fabspeed resonators. This along with a MAF conversion, Clewett Engineering EFI conversion, and MAF chipper gives Maverick a bump of 47whp. Very solid pickup and torquey. The Fabspeed with the 4” Piecut turn down will be included/installed.
No corner balancing has been done, but possible I might be able to get those number before auction ends.
@Mdiesel64 Sorry, missed the last question there. No OEM parts will be included other than what is pictured. Seats and trim were sold at the beginning of build. We do have some black seats OEM leather power seats and other parts available in house that could be thrown in if reserve is met
@Mdiesel64 Hello, When Nakai-San cuts he does leave it raw and exposed metal. However wheels came back off and an etch coat was applied and then sealed with 2k paint. No rust issues where fenders or quarters were cut.
@vrschmidt shoot me an email on date and times you might be able to make it in and we can discuss

Bid in the amount of $30,000
Car looks beautiful. Curious on the OEM fenders and their current state. When Nakai is building the car, is there any sort of protection applied to the fenders that are cut and left raw? Wondering about rust potential.
Are any OEM parts (seats, trim) included in sale?
Hi RWBEastCoast, the ad mentions factory 247 hp. When the car was last dyno'd what were the numbers? Was the car ever corner balanced for aligning the car and if so do you have the total weight of the car?
Also, the videos and images show two different exhaust systems. What exhaust system is coming on the car and is the other exhaust also part of the sale of the car?
@RWBEastCoastUSA ok, thanks. Was thinking of flying in General Aviation so ATL is a more tricky and typically does not like GA aircraft. When are you available for on site showing?
@vrschmidt The car is located in Metro Atlanta. ATL airport would be the best airport
I would also like to look at the car in person. Is PDK airport close to where the car is located?
@harv666 Good Morning, We have video of Maverick aired up and aired out. Will upload to view.
Any photos showing the car at its ride heights using the air lift?
Bid in the amount of $20,964
@henridragon Most welcome. Since it has been here we do have service and maintenance records I can upload. Most recently new plugs, wires, rotors, dist cap, and all fluid changed. My apologies for the misunderstanding, Maverick gets driven on our private property to keep health and oversee of rotating parts. No Flat6 should ever be left to sit, they love composing music. We don’t have paint readings available.
Thank you for the update. Since it's been sitting the past couple years, do you have any further service history, compression tests, or paint readings?
@henridragon Thank you.I really enjoy this build also. Has a presence to it and a great story. As far as the accident reported in 2017, on the way back from an Atlanta 993 build, Eric ended up running over an unavoidable existing roadkill on the Hwy. The damage occurred to the front lower portion of the RWB front bumper only. The front bumper was fixed, altered and resprayed by yours truly at our Metro Atlanta facility. As always in our shop we have work directed, inspected, and approved by Nakai-San to his standards. It now has more clearance when aired out also. Maverick hasn’t had a new tag since 2019 due to changes Eric’s directions and hobbies. During panademic, Maverick was shipped back to our shop to facilitate care, maintenance, exposure at car events. Maverick currently resides in Metro Atlanta.
Very cool build! Just a few questions. Is there any particular reason the Carfax reports not recent registration since 2019? Do you have any information on the accident in 2017? And is the Car located in NC or Georgia? I am local to Charlotte and wanted to see check out the car in person.
@RWBEastCoastUSA @CharlieFerer. That should read I will definitely check out your channel.
@CharlieFerer Hello @CharlieFerer, glad you are on board. Solid RWB to choose from and not being bias. 😄. Maverick has a lot of the original features of Nakais vision. To answer your questions, Maverick has a clean title and a r134 converted 90s Air condition. Will defiantly check out the channel.
Great car and love the build and Eric's story. I have a small youtube channel under Charlie Ferer and have been looking for a RWB big wing car to add. Excited to see where this auction goes. Please confirm the car has air conditioning and a clean title.

We are excited to present RWB Maverick, a 1990 911 C4, for your consideration. This car has been a joy to own, featuring the Royal Wide hips, air suspension, and the beautiful sound of a 3.6 Flat Six. It’s time for someone else to enjoy this fantastic vehicle as much as Eric has.
