One of the most significant evolutions for the Porsche 911, the 964 generation debuted a new twin-plug 3.6-liter engine, revised suspension, improved aerodynamics, and was the first Porsche 911 to offer power steering and anti-lock brakes (ABS). This 1990 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 Coupe comes finished in Grand Prix White over a Cashmere Beige leather interior. Featuring the desirable 5-speed G50 manual gearbox, this example was also factory equipped with an optional limited-slip differential. Having remained a California car until being imported to Western Canada in 2005, it is now being offered for auction with approximately 150k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Grand Prix White and factory features include front fog lights, a sunroof, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. This Carrera 2 has been fitted with a lowered suspension as well as 17” Cup 1-style wheels dressed in Michelin tires from 2022. The seller notes the front bumper has been refinished, other high-impact areas have been touched-up, and slight paint imperfections are present. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARAX report showing minor cosmetic damage to have occurred in September 2008.
The cabin presents Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather upholstery. A taller shifter and matching shift knob have been fitted along with a Singer-style rubber boot. The seller notes the air conditioning system is weak, the driver’s seat does not move back or forward, and the passenger seat is missing a control button.
An air-cooled 3.6-liter flat-six engine sends 247 HP stock to the rear wheels by way of a G50 5-speed manual transmission and an optional limited-slip differential. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH can be achieved in as little as 5.5 seconds while reaching top speeds upwards of 160 MPH. The seller states that a full engine rebuild was carried out approximately 15k miles ago. Upgraded equipment includes Bilstein PSS10 coilovers, various new suspension parts/bushings, and a primary muffler bypass. A host of service documentation is available for viewing in the gallery and will accompany the sale.

Just uploaded a snap of the service records, books, and original window sticker included in sale (see in gallery). A completely overwhelming amount of documentation on this one! A couple bidders have requested clarity on the 2008 Carfax 'minor damage' incident. This was a parking lot bump, that resulted in a ~$800 refinish of the front bumper cover and nothing else. @ruf_kühlt for California, shipping should be around $2500 + import broker (assuming duty exemption flies - best to confirm with a broker). Once it lands, you will pay normal state tax/reg fees as you would any other vehicle purchase.

The drivers seat position Currently? Is it stuck (because not currently operating) back or forward? I’m 6-2” so in interim if I buy it needs to NOT be forward. Please advise. Thx

@joshve - yes, ~$13k invoice present in gallery for engine rebuild (although I think it was a top end, not a full rebuild - maybe pcarmarket can adjust description). As of now, the car just has normal sweating in the typical air cooled spots - valve covers, timing covers, nothing worth addressing at this time and nothing around the case. Some more regular driving would probably help to further dry up and seepage. Our technicians actually commented on the cleanliness of this engine during underside photos. Hope this helps!
Regarding the statement in the description that a "full engine rebuild was carried out approximately 15k miles ago", does this correspond to the service that was done in 2008? How much oil (and from where) is the car currently leaking?
@Jarod964 Would you please provide a quote for repairing the A/C, drivers seat, passenger seat switch replacement and replacing the tall shifter to original (I see it’s in the frunk).

To summarize, for US import - assuming no duty payable as a previous US car, you basically only have to worry about transport, and small paperwork/handling fees. Likely under $1500 total for most states.
@joshve - this car is fully US admissible (as a previous US car), and very strait-forward to re import. In general, the only added costs for US import would be:
- Duty (if applicable) - approx. 2.8% of sale price (see below for more info on this)
- Broker fee (if you dont want to do the paperwork yourself) - generally under $500
- Transport (if you don't want to drive it home yourself) - generally around 1000-2500, I recommend TFX for a quote
That said, according to US customs website, cars previously registered in the US should be eligible for re entry to the US DUTY FREE - this car should qualify - making transport/brokerage your only real cost. A company like TFX or any import broker can provide you with a true all-in quote. Hope this helps!
