Up for auction is this 1990 944 S2 presented in rare Zyclam Red Pearl Metallic. Produced from 1982 to 1991, the 944 was the most successful sports car in Porsche history prior to the introduction of the Boxster. Originally purchased from MCL Porsche in Vancouver Canada, this 1990 example is believed by the owner to be one of less than ten 944’s painted in this exquisite color. This 944 has been driven 85k miles to date and is being offered for auction in turn-key condition by its owner in Canada.
This 944's Zyclam Red Pearl Metallic paint shows to be in excellent condition with a few noted flaws including rock chips on the front-end as well as a small paint nick on the passenger rear quarter panel (shown in gallery photos). The seller believes all paint on this vehicle to be original with the exception of a high quality respray on the rear bumper and lower valance. The original 16" alloy wheels are showing to be in good condition and come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The black leather interior is said to be in exceptional condition for the vehicle's age. An upgraded Blaupunkt radio unit has been installed and remains the only modification to this otherwise stock example. The dashboard is free of any cracks and the leather sport seats remain in excellent condition with the only notable flaw being some very light wear on the driver’s seat bolster. All electrical components, accessories and gauges are reportedly in good working order, however, the cruise control function is intermittent. @CaptCoyote thanks for the comment...this colour “LZ3T” Zyclam Red Pearl Effect was produced for 1990-91 only...very rare colour. This 944S2 gets hand washed only . I never use the car wash, their detergents are too harsh, it will strip oils and UV protectants from the paint....this applies to any vehicle. The 944S2 is professionally detailed and protected using Meguiars Products..
My God! I’ve never seen this color before.....it is absolutely drop-dead gorgeous! I own an S2 cabriolet.....whoever ends up with this beauty.....I promise it will bring “smiles with the miles”! One question......did you have that paint specially treated (for example, ceramic coating)? If not, could you tell me what wax you use? Best of luck, sir!

As a 951 owner myself, I’ve had the chance to go through this particular S2 up close when the owner has brought it out to local cars & coffee and PCA events. Unmolested, high spec S2’s (love the sport seats) are getting quite hard to find, especially cars without deferred maintenance issues. Beautiful, loved and maintained car, in a uniquely rare colour. Someone here should be able to drive home a very nice 944.
