The final evolution of Porsche's iconic transaxle sports car, the 944 S2 debuted with a larger 3.0-liter engine and Turbo-style bodywork. This 1990 Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet comes finished in Black over a Linen Grey leather interior. One of less than 3k examples believed to have been delivered to the United States, this two-owner 1990 S4 Cabriolet comes accompanied by extensive documentation and is said to have been stored in a climate-controlled garage. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas while showing approximately 177k miles on the odometer.

This example is finished in Black with a matching black convertible top and displays custom red and grey vinyl graphics. The 944 S2 shared its bodywork with the Turbo model, which includes a diffuser below the rear bumper as well as a more rounded aerodynamic nose with a front spoiler, integrated fog lights, and an air intake between the indicators. The factory D90 wheels are dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ tires from 2016. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

This 944 sports a Linen Grey leather interior with power-operated Sport Seats in front and a 2+2 seating arrangement. The interior is accented by black diamond-stitched Porsche floor mats, a black-carpeted dash, and black upper and lower door panel trimming. Additionally, an aftermarket Pioneer radio with Bluetooth capability has been fitted. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.

This S2 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter inline 4-cylinder engine rated at 208 HP and 207 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that the spark plugs and timing belt have been replaced and that a host of service records are included with the sale. There are no outstanding maintenance items reported at this time.

This sale will include a clean title, window sticker, toolkit, spare tire, car cover, owner’s manuals, and sales literature.

The seller would like you to know: "This car has served me and the first owner very well, it offers impressive handling and a fun drive. It was always stored in a climate-controlled garage when not in use. It was driven because that’s what it was made for and not stored in garages for decades."

  • palvara (registered bidder) 10 months, 2 weeksago

Does the AC work as it should ?

    Thank You

  • Alifbaee (seller) 10 months, 2 weeksago

hello everyone thank you for the interest and bids thus far, I want to be upfront and say that I will do my best to attend to the auction, I did have a family emergency which is a priority at the moment, however rest assured the car is in perfect running condition. Thank you for understanding! For instances where I can not be present Pcarmarket will be assisting in responding to comments.

I've happily owned 2 of these. I'm more than a little concerned by the lack of answers to my previous questions. Because: replacing top motors/mechanism can be well over $1000, belts and rollers, $2000, and rebuilt engine that can result from lack of timely belt and roller job, $$$$, enough to render the existing bids excessive.

    how does the AC work?

  • PaulLittell (registered bidder) 10 months, 3 weeksago

Looks nice at a glance. A few questions, please:

What is the tape repair on the right convertible top?
    Does this date from 2002?
Video of the top up and down?
Do you have a clear invoice of the last belts and rollers job — date and mileage?
Tire mileage and photo of tread?
Excessive orange peel in photo # 25?
Apparent indentation glove box in photo # 34, 57?
Is dash cracked on top at all? can you remove velcro?
Can you please post detail photos of the driver’s seat and bolster?
Can you please post detail photos of the fading/yellowing in photo # 37,38,46,51,52?
photos of paint chips, small scratches, underbody, headliner, original carpet and trunk interior?
As mentioned by others, the gray nose.

I’d sure appreciate a quick answer to these questions as given the age of the car, I would have to scare ups an expert down your way for an inspection in a couple of days. Can you make the car available for that?

    Many thanks

"It was driven because that’s what it was made for.. " - exactly, and a 2 or 3-owner cared-for p-car will be driven for many many more miles. Looks clean and cared for. Seller, @Alifbaee, can you touch on the grey replacement parts / front end damage?
And also can you confirm or show the seat bolsters to be tear free or is there any de-threading on them? Thanks! GLWS!
