We are pleased to offer this 1991 Acura NSX finished in Formula Red over a black leather interior. Having represented Honda and Acura’s entry into the supercar market, the NSX in many ways outperformed its competition with reliability, agility, and daily usability. This particular 1991 example is reported to have spent its life in Hawaii before being imported to the mainland U.S. in 2003 at 30k miles.  It has been treated a few tasteful upgrades that include an updated 6-speed gearbox from 2001, Comptech coilovers and headers, West Wing side skirts, Dali Racing sway bars, and Racing Hart M5 wheels. This NSX currently shows 47k miles on the odometer and is now being listed by its selling dealer out of Minnesota accompanied by extensive records and a clean title.

The Formula Red finish is siad to be in very nice condition overall with a recent paint correction and professional detail. Honda reportedly used an aircraft-grade chromate coating to protect the aluminum bodywork before a 23-step paint process was carried out for a vivid and smooth appearance.  Notable exterior modifications West Wing side skirts, Racing Hart M5 wheels (18x7.5 F and 19x9.5 R dual bolt pattern 4x114 and 5x114), clear front signal markers, RM oval exhaust tips, and HID headlamps.  The seller reports that new rear tires will be installed at their expense prior to sale.

Inside, the black leather interior is said to be in excellent condition with tasteful upgrades including Mugen pedals, an NSX-R Mugen Japanese shift boot, Zanardi shift knob, and an upgraded stereo system with a new head unit, amplifier, and Digital Design speakers. All gauges and accessories are reported to be in proper working order.

The transverse-mounted Honda C30A 3.0 L 24-valve V6 engine features VTEC variable valve timing and produces 270HP and 210 lb.-ft of torque.  This NSX has a few performance upgrades including a Comptech Stage 2 clutch, headers, coilovers, Dali racing sway bars, stainless steel brake lines, Koni Yellow shocks, and the updated brakes and 6-speed gearbox from a 2001 model (the original NSX uses a 5-speed version). The seller reportedly commissioned a major recent service that included a timing belt replacement, new valve cover gasket, cam seal, oil pan gasket, new front inner tie rods, an updated second-gen water pump, and wheel alignment. Extensive records are included dating back to the 90s and the seller has offered to provide complimentary oil service and brake fluid flush prior to sale.

This sale will include a clean title and a collection of service records.  The first-generation NSX is more desirable than ever before, and this tastefully upgraded 1991 example makes an excellent choice for any enthusiast.

    Sorry, only just noticed that you said that these parts will be coming off a ‘97 NSX. In which case they won't be as OG as they are 16 front and 17 rear (not 15 and 16 respectively).

  • planetaporsche (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    So the original wheels (15" front, 16" rear) won't fit since this car has been upgraded with 2001 brakes, that's a shame. Does your buddy have a set of OG pre 97 calipers too? And since you'll be doing the brake fluid flush, could you be persuaded to fit the correct calipers (if your buddy has them)?

    To anyone who is interested in bidding. I can get stock exhaust. The 2 cats and muffler. But the headers would remain on the car. I can also get a stock intake for it and stock chrome six spoke wheels. These parts will be coming off a ‘97 NSX.
    I do not own these parts, they are parts with a local NSX guru off his car. The winning bidder can be put in touch with this gentleman and you guys can work out a deal for the parts.
    I have had a lot of private messages here asking about stock parts. This is why I’m posting it here publicly so my apologies if I don’t get back to you personally. any other questions, please feel free to ask.

    @LongwoodCharger Unfortunately I do not have either. But I have a friend locally that has the 6 spoke wheels off his 1996 that he would sell. In fact he has stock exhaust, intake and a few other parts as well.

    @AjsGarage
    Do you still have possession of the original transmission or wheels?

  • AJsGarage (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    @scaledetails Yes Sir. Clean title in my hands. No loan.
    Clean history as well. I believe the carfax was included in the pics. Very well documented history and I have a folder of receipts that’s about an inch thick.

  • scaledetails (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    @AJsGarage OK, thank you for the clarification. Is the title clean and has a clean Carfax history?

  • AJsGarage (seller) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    @scaledetails Hello Sir
    Negative, it was a 5spd manual trans but these cars have the snap ring issue, so they opt’d to update to the 6spd. The NA2 cars differ in the trans and the brakes, hence why the brakes were also updated to 2001 model (slightly larger than NA1).

  • scaledetails (registered bidder) 3 years, 2 monthsago

    @AJsGarage Hello,

    So as I understand it this was an automatic before and it was converted to a manual 6 speed? Is that correct?
