The Bentley Turbo R was produced by Bentley Motors Limited from 1985 to 1999, featuring the “R” designation for “road-holding.” It boasted a modified suspension and wider tires on aluminum alloy wheels for improved handling. Notably, from the 1987 model year onwards, the Turbo R's V8 engine received fuel injection retuning for enhanced torque. Upon its 1989 introduction in the United States, MotorTrend lauded it as "the first Bentley in decades worthy of its prestigious name." Finished in black over tan leather upholstery, this 1991 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York with approximately 59k miles on the odometer.
This Turbo R comes finished in black contrasted with bright trim pieces. Details include a chrome radiator grille, red-accented badging, gold pinstripes, quad headlights, and twin exhaust outlets. It rides on 15” aluminum alloy wheels with Bentley logo hubcaps and Cooper Cobra tires in like-new condition. Minor cosmetic imperfections are noted, and additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage to the front-left area in July 2012.
Inside, occupants are presented with tan leather upholstery complemented by burl wood trim along the dashboard, center console, and door panels. Amenities include power windows, exterior mirrors, power-adjustable front seats with memory functions, automatic climate control, and a Pioneer AM/FM/CD head unit. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly. The seller mentions a slight odor of smoke.
Beneath the bonnet lies a 6.75-liter V8 engine featuring Bosch fuel injection. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 3-speed automatic transmission. The chassis includes a self-leveling independent suspension with hydraulic struts and gas springs along with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and a spare tire.

Bid in the amount of $4,500
looking forward to hearing back about the AC. Do you have any service history? If you do it would be helpful if its posted.
All controls work
We will check A/C this AM
No needs - it’s a road worthy car and will pass inspection
We did paint corrections last month
Does the AC work? All of the windows, door locks, and seat controls? What does the car currently need?
@Rjappraise Wood is very presentable along with the interior in general . It really looks like a very original and well taken original example of the car.
We have all the original log books and manuals.
We don’t have service history but it runs very well and is impeccable under the hood in all respects.
No smell of smoke from mechanicals. It must have been owned by a smoker at some point
The description says there is a slight smell of smoke.... Seller, please expand on this. Is it all the time? Only at startup? Has a mechanic diagnosed it? Is there smoke at startup? So many unknowns, this is something to be vary weary of until there is some further explanation.
