Representing the second-generation BMW 3-Series, the E30 became the first BMW to feature an all-wheel drive system with the introduction of the 325iX. This 1991 Touring version is finished in Silver over a purple Design Edition interior and features its inline-six mated to a 4-speed automatic transmission. This 325ix Touring is now being offered for auction by its seller out of California showing less than 139k km (86k miles).

Finished in Silver, standard equipment includes quad headlights, flared wheel arches, iX-specific side skirts, polished trim, power-adjustable mirrors, a power antenna, chrome kidney grilles, a front air dam with integrated fog lights, and dual exhaust tips. It rides on 15” BMW BBS IX wheels with center caps, wrapped in Radial 618 tires showing date codes from 2017. The seller has reportedly installed BMW mudflaps, clear signal lights, a 325is-style front lip, and a Yakima roof rack including a bike mount. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, the 325ix features purple Design Edition upholstery with manually adjustable seats, matching door panels, gray carpeting, a black headliner, and a black dashboard and center console. Equipment includes cruise control, power accessories, air conditioning, VDO instrumentation, a dog net, a trunk curtain, quarter glass sunshades, a 13-button on-board computer, and a rearview map light. The seller has reportedly fitted a Sony head unit, Kicker speakers, and an M-Tech II steering wheel. All gauges and electronics are reported to be working as intended, with no warning lights present.

Powered by a 2.5-liter M20B25 inline six-cylinder engine, the 325ix sends up to 168 HP and 164 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels by way of a 4-speed automatic transmission. The seller reports the oil to have been changed every 2.8k miles, with additional recent maintenance including a coolant flush, with another to be completed following the sale, replaced spark plugs, and a new timing belt. The seller states that a 5-speed manual transmission is included with the sale, should the new owner want to swap it in.

This sale will include a toolkit, a spare tire, a 5-speed IX manual transmission, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Will come with a 5-speed transmission for anyone who'd like to convert the car to a manual. The car spent its whole life in California in a garage. Dash is clean no cracks!”

@bhill Transfercase in good working condition! The spare manual transmission does have the ix specific adapter attached to it ready to go on. Also in good condition. Photos will be taken momentarily.

  • bhill (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

Apologies, one more question. Can you post photos from underneath the car, especially of the rust prone E30 and iX specific areas? Thank you.

  • bhill (registered bidder) 6 monthsago

Gorgeous, rare car! How is the condition of the existing transfer case? Have you done the infamous "jack test" yet? Also, does your spare manual transmission still have the manual-specific transfer case attached to it, in known good condition? This would be a major plus and go a long way toward the swap. Thanks!

@charliek911 Yes, i imported the car myself and i am the first owner on US soil. Never gone through for CA for this car since its expensive to plate them here i just did Washington, never have i had a problem with those plates and drive it with ease.

  • charliek911 6 monthsago

Nice car. So...it's been in California it's whole life???? How come the Washington plates? Has it been through the California smog system? Thank you.
