Representing the second generation of BMW's 3-Series as well as the first 3-Series convertible, the E30 has become a cult classic among enthusiasts, lauded for its classic styling and nimble lightweight chassis. This 1991 325i convertible is finished in Black over gray leather and was optioned with a 4-speed automatic transmission. It was originally registered in California, where it remained until 2004, and is said to have sat 5 years before being acquired by the seller in 2022. Recent service includes the replacement of the timing, air conditioning, and alternator belts, and fitment of new radiator hoses, a new thermostat, a new water pump, and battery, as well as new tires, a new valve cover gasket, and a new intake boot. Showing approximately 38k miles on the odometer, this 325i Convertible is now being offered at auction by its seller out of New Hampshire.

The exterior is finished in Black (668) with a matching convertible soft top. Features include quad headlamps, a front valence with integrated fog lamps, chrome body trim, a trunk-mounted third brake light, a power antenna, a gray convertible top boot lid, and dual exhaust tips. The seller reports the convertible top must be operated manually and notes some tears in the fabric seams as well as a fading of the soft top rear window. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The 14” basketweave wheels are mounted with new Ironman iMove P1 tires.

The cabin includes front sport seats and a rear bench seat upholstered in gray leather along with matching door panels and a black dashboard. Amenities include air conditioning, cruise control, an onboard computer, VDO instrumentation, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a car phone, power accessories, and an AM/FM/cassette radio. The seller notes some splitting seams at the top of the rear bench seat.

The E30 325i is powered by a 2.5L M20 inline six-cylinder factory rated at 168 HP and 164 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a 4-speed automatic transmission. The seller reports that upon acquisition, the timing, air conditioning, and alternator belts were replaced along with the installation of a new battery, new tires, a new valve cover gasket, new radiator hoses, and new fluids.

This sale will include a bill of sale and registration documents.

@Fredo The top is considered a semi power you have to release the top, and push up from the inside and then power it down the remainder 3/4 of the way.

Yes the top leaks ONLY in the back window, which has no water damage currently as the car was never stored outside.

  • Salesman92 (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@WOF73 (2) photos of the wheel wells with wheels off have been added for you to view, I apologize but I do not have any detailed undercarriage shots. No rust or rust repairs present underneath. Bid with confidence!

  • Salesman92 (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@WOF73 The car it’s immaculate and shows no signs of rust in the storage area of the convertible top.

The Radio code was needed after I changed the battery recently and yes I have the code and the radio operates as it should.

The check panel works properly and after cold start only displays the washer fluid reservoir which has a crack in the bottom (typical) I did not change that, and rear brake light although brake and tail lights function properly on command including 3rd brake light.

Sorry for the delay if there’s any more questions I am happy to answer them, bid with confidence!

Was the convertible originally a powertop or a manual?

  • WOF73 (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

Forgot to ask about the radio being functional and do you have the security code for it?

  • WOF73 (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

Beautiful car! Is there any rust under the soft storage area and does the top leak? Pics of undercarriage? Can you take a pic/vid of the system check functioning/clearing after cold start?

  • Salesman92 (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

This car was found after being stored indoors for many years. The car was purchased out of an estate non running. A mechanical refresh has been completed with the focus of preserving originality and leaving it ultimately to the next caretaker, what level to refresh the car to. Documented mileage on an E30 is a very rare thing to see. The car is currently at the point where you can turn the key and enjoy it. If you are looking to win a concourse this is a great start but will need some finishing to get to that level. The car is available to be shown in person to anyone in the area or 3rd party PPI. Please continue to reach out with any questions, looking forward to passing this on to its next caretaker!

@DoubleClutchin both rear panels to cover the speakers are there I usually take them off during driving with the top down because they need new clips to hold them in under heavy winds.

The check control system works properly just to note.

  • Salesman92 (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@Flatman No title because I live in NH and the car came from VT (no title state) It will be sold with a bill of sale and current non expired registration which is a valid way to register in any US state (I’ve done this many times).

Yes all interior pieces are original, the radio and LCD Screen next to it are inop, and was not something on my list to replace before selling.

  • Salesman92 (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

@Punnzzells Yes the vin sticker on the right side near the fender bolts is painted over I am aware of that. The sticker on the drivers side matches the VIN plaque on the dash, and the registration.

  • Salesman92 (seller) 1 year, 6 monthsago

Hey @Punnzzells the hood does align properly I have paint tested the car and all numbers are within specs. I have not touched the paint besides a restoration buffing and ceramic coating.

  • DoubleClutchin 1 year, 6 monthsago

Can you confirm that the LCD screen next to the radio is functioning or not? It looks like it's not.

Photo 21 - is the speaker panel missing? It's not in photo 21 but seems too be in others.

  • Flatman (registered bidder) 1 year, 6 monthsago

No title? Is that the original radio? Does it work? Does on board computer work?

  • Punnzzells 1 year, 7 monthsago

looks like some of the VIN stickers have been painted over.... see pic 72 and/or 80

  • Punnzzells 1 year, 7 monthsago

Front passenger side hood does not align properly. has this car been in a minor fender bender? any pics of the vin stickers on the car?
