Based on the E30 M3 Coupe, the Convertible version of the M3 was introduced in 1988 and was only available to the European market. Hand-assembled at BMW’s Motorsport facility in Garching, Germany, this 1991 M3 Convertible is finished in Diamond Black Metallic over a silver leather interior. It was first ordered by Klaus Dombrowski of Huttlingen, Germany, and subsequently spent time unregistered in a U.K. collection before being purchased by its current owner on its original German title. One of approximately 785 European-spec M3 Convertibles produced, this rare BMW is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Oklahoma while showing just 713 miles on the odometer.
This M3 is finished in Diamond Black Metallic with a black convertible soft top and shares bodywork from the M3 Couple including boxed fender flares, revised bumpers, and side skirts. Differing from the M3 Coupe, it features a standard trunk lid without a spoiler. Other exterior details include headlight wipers, fog lights, painted mirror caps, and a dual exhaust outlet. It rides on silver-finished 16″ basketweave wheels with BMW center caps that are dressed in Pirelli P700 tires from 2001. The seller notes a few minor blemishes on the hood that have been touched up. The cabin is upholstered in silver leather and sports M tri-color accents on each of the four seats, which include heating and manual adjustability in the front. Interior details include a four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, an onboard computer, power windows, power mirrors, power locks, and a BMW Bavaria C Business cassette stereo. The car is not optioned with air conditioning or cruise control. The seller reports the mileage shown on the odometer is accurate. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are said to be working properly.
This M3 is powered by a 2.3-liter S14 inline-four-cylinder engine that was factory-rated at 215 HP and 230 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. To accommodate the increased curb weight, the M3 Convertible came equipped with different shocks and springs compared to the M3 Coupe. The gas tank is said to have been recently replaced along with the battery and fuel injector cleaning.
This sale will include a clean title, tool kit, spare tire, and car cover.

I’m in Europe and know these cars well. When produced there were a combination of standard E30 and M3 parts used. Because of this unusual combination of parts, many of these cars are near one-off builds. They were also hand painted and the measurements varied from 50-200 micron or so. The production numbers make it a rare car. The km and condition make it a true collector’s piece. Good luck to bidders and seller in the final day. I think the world is watching this one. I'm quite sure if this one would be sold in Europe it'd easily do 200k or more in euros.

@BMWFAM, if you do a search on BAT you will find what this car in the auction history. For those looking, this a wonderful example... It has some truly interesting options such as the air bag which was not standard in Europe. The gray dashboard is something you will not find on most other E30s. I'm looking forward to seeing what this will sell for. I know there is no way you could reproduce this E30 M3 Convertible for what it was sold/purchased for. I have looked all over Europe and you will never find another w this kind of miles. In Europe a nice example with 100,000 km will generally cost 120k euro or more and most of them are in very poor used condition.

Hi, guys. Here’s a little further info. First, I’m posting the German and UK inspections on the car showing the mileage, along with the original title from the original owner! Second, the car is already registered and titled in the USA with a clean MT title. And yes, there are floor mats in the car. AC could certainly be added. I’m no expert but I believe none of these were optioned with AC.

@CABRIOLET-INT - love the handle! Pcarmarket is incorrect. This car has only 1150km (713 miles) on it, documented by a German TUV and a UK MOT. I will try to upload those shortly.
The PCAR ad states 27,867 miles. The seller states 713 original miles? Is there any documentation for actual mileage? Either way love this M3 Cabriolet.

It was just serviced by a BMW specialist shop with a new battery fitted, the fuel injectors removed, inspected and cleaned, and a new gas tank installed as the original one had fuel sitting for too long.
