Having said recently received a comprehensive service, this 964 shows just 36k miles on the odometer and is being offered for auction by its seller out of Clovis, California.

This 964 is finished in Black with a retractable soft top in black. The soft top was replaced in 2010 and the seller notes two small chips on the front bumper and a small dent on the hood. Inside, the black interior is said to be in good overall condition with all gauges and accessories working properly. Power comes from an air-cooled 3.6L flat-six engine rated at 247 HP and 228 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a stout 4-speed automatic Tiptronic transmission allowing for easy, everyday drivability. The CARFAX highlights 6 service history records dating back to 2001, and the seller notes that a valve job was carried out at approximately 33k miles. Service records have been provided by the seller for reference and can be found in the gallery.

This sale will include a clean title, two keys, books, service records and the original head unit. Do not miss out on this nicely presented Porsche 964 Cabriolet.

Hello, we closely monitor each auction. The system is operating flawlessly. Bear in mind this is all explained in our "How It Works" section. Any bid entered with less than 2 min 15 sec will reset the clock back to 2 min 15 sec to allow the person who was out bid to get back in. If the clock runs down to 0 without a bid the auction will close. Congrats to the buyer and seller on a very special car.

@va911 Thanks for the interest. A minor oil leak was noticed while sitting in the garage. Took it to have it diagnosed. At that time I was considering selling it and the Mechanic wanted to ensure it would be “perfect “ for sale and recommended the valve job (and hoses replaced). He actually wanted to buy it at that time but I wound up keeping it in the end.

I’ll have to get back to you with the tire codes because the cars in the shop having the AC serviced. It’s getting hot here and noticed it wasn’t blowing as cold as it should. Everything works on the car which is the beautiful thing about these analog cars without all the bothersome high tech that new cars have these days. Lol

I have pictures of the service you’re questioning. I have to talk to pcarmarket on how I get them to you (post them on the listing?) It was taken to Porsche of Fresno upon returning to CA. Some specific items were addressed and the car was checked out by them while in the shop.

Beautiful car, seller! A few questions...Curious if you would shed any light on what symptoms the car was showing that prompted the valve job at 33k miles? Date codes for the tires? Any features/accessories not currently working? The write-up mentions recent service - what did that service include and when was it completed?

Just adding a little background on the Porsche. The car was leased from new in 1991 through 1996, then purchased in 1996 with 14,000 miles on it and remains in my possession today. Obviously it was driven and used as a weekender which is reflected in the low miles. The car has been a blast to own. It’s such an eye catcher with the black on black color scheme! The Tiptronic transmission is a blessing in traffic, and is a delight on curvey mountain roads. I’m parting with the after 26 years because it’s not driven enough anymore and needs a new owner that will drive it and appreciate it. I’m aware that the manual/coupes are the most sought after, but finding a 964 black on black with very low miles is a real rarity! This thing is sexy!

I want to add that the small dent on the hood was caused by a rogue golf ball while at the course. It’s not even noticeable unless it’s pointed out. I opted not to try a repair because I wanted to maintain the integrity and originality of the car. The same with the very minor chips showing in the listing pictures.

I hope whoever winds up with it is someone that will drive it and enjoy it for what it is. The experience driving these model year Porsches is unmatched! The styling and engineering is something that car lovers admire and dream of and will never be replicated again.
