We are pleased to present this 1991 Porsche 911 Reimagined by Singer.  Built between 2017-2019 as the 109th example by Singer Vehicle Design, the “Greenwich Commission” is finished in GT Silver over a bespoke Oxblood Red custom weave leather interior. Based on the chassis of a U.S. market Porsche 964, this 911 has been completely reworked and fitted with desirable options from Singer including carbon-ceramic brakes, Ohlins suspension, and a 6-speed G50 manual gearbox paired with a hand-built 4.0L flat-six developed by Ed Pink Racing Engines in California.  A stunning representation of Singer’s craftsmanship, the Greenwich Commission is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois with just over 1k miles driven since completion.

The Greenwich Commission is finished in traditional Porsche GT Silver accented by ghosted dark side stripes and lettering.  During its transformation at Singer, this 911 was completely disassembled and stripped to bare metal before receiving chassis reinforcements and custom fabrication to accommodate the new backdated carbon fiber bodywork.  The car was then dressed in nickel-plated brightwork and badging, an optional carbon-fiber roof, a center-fill hood, and an external fender-mounted oil filler.  Modern lighting is incorporated including state-of-the-art Hella Bi-Xenon headlights which were developed for P1 Prototype race cars. A clear paint protection film has also been applied over the front end, and the Brembo brake calipers are finished in Champagne Gold to subtly contrast the silver exterior.  This Singer rides on newly developed 17” forged aluminum Fuchs-style wheels in an RSR finish.  These extremely strong and lightweight wheels are sized 9” x 17” up front and 11” x 17” in the rear and come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires measuring 225/45/ZR17 and 265/40/ZR17.

Inside, the driver is greeted by a beautifully crafted Oxblood Red custom weave leather interior with decorative Alabaster stitching, an Ivory headliner, and Wine Red velour carpeting.  Black leather covers the pillars and knee pad as well as the upper dashboard and door panels.  The rear seats are deleted, and the “Track” front bucket seats feature nickel grommets, woven suede-mix inserts, and Piano Black seatbacks.  Other details include drilled floorboards, rubber over mats, and a leather-wrapped MOMO Prototipo steering wheel that sits ahead of early-style 911 VDO gauges with green markings and silver pivot caps.  In the center of the dashboard are climate controls and a Porsche Classic nav-stereo which is paired with a subwoofer and SiriusXM satellite radio receiver.

Upholstered in quilted Oxblood Red leather, the engine compartment houses a naturally aspirated 4.0L flat-six which has been meticulously developed and hand-built by the engineers at Ed Pink Racing Engines in partnership with Cosworth.  This engine retains the case of a 964 and uses a custom crankshaft along with new pistons, cylinders, connecting rods, cams, cylinder heads, throttle bodies, an optimized lightweight stainless-steel exhaust, and an optional ceramic intake plenum.  The engine runs on a MoTeC M1 series ECU operating in conjunction with dual MoTeC Power Distribution Modules and Bosch components that replace the original fuse system.

Up to 400 HP and 315 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a custom close-ratio 6-speed G50 manual gearbox with a limited-slip differential, allowing for acceleration from 0-60 MPH in as little as 3.3 seconds.  Optional performance features include adjustable Ohlins coilovers and cross-drilled carbon-ceramic rotors which are gripped by 993 Turbo-derived Brembo brake calipers.  The original rack and pinion steering system has also been replaced in favor of the improved 993 design.  Each Singer 911 is thoroughly tuned and tested prior to delivery, and its onboard data logging and diagnostics abilities allow remote access for service wherever the car is located.  This example is said to have undergone a full oil service in preparation for its next owner.

This sale will include a build sheet and a clean title.  Many customers wait years in advance for a Singer allocation of their own, do not miss this very special opportunity to get directly behind the wheel of the exquisite Greenwich Commission.

@sterno photo has been added to the gallery. You'll see on the driver's side rear seat a hump which is the subwoofer that comes with Singer's upgraded audio. A replacement seat bottom also comes with the car if you want to swap the sub out!

  • Mouse19 (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Mouse19 I tried to tag and reply neatly but it blended everyone so my apologies!

    Good luck to everyone!

  • Mouse19 (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@dcruz - These are the correct sizes. I think that Singer needed to blend some form and function in this department.

@teeko - PCar has done a great job bringing some quality buyers to this market so we thought they would be effective in bringing the right people to this auction.

@GentlemanRacer - We purchased (and still own) our first Singer roughly two years ago. This is our third acquisition and I always tell people that ask us, "why buy a Singer," to just drive one and they'll understand. Yes, they're a pricey car to drive every day but I do think they're easy to drive in all scenarios and they really are a great place to park money in a car that is very usable. I think you've seen in recent auction results that if the car is options right, the mileage doesn't have a huge effect on the value. For what it's worth, I don't know a single owner that isn't a true motorsport enthusiast and driver and that speaks volumes about Singer's product.

It sounds like you build a great car, that's awesome!

@Zecky - thanks for your bid!

@Sterno - what color was the Lightweight?! Have been looking for a great example for some time now, it's definitely difficult to find a car that hasn't been "over-restored."

@ericfrench993 - All it takes is the highest bid!

@KarlZIII - This really is a classy spec! Singer executed this build perfectly.

Is it me or is every single photo a possible magazine cover ?

  • KarlZIII 3 years, 3 monthsago

Gorgeous! One of the most beautiful Singer builds I’ve seen, and the color combo is classic Porsche.

  • ericfrench993 (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Wow...! I want this. It's the best looking Porsche/Singer likely ever built...And I've seen/owned a lot of them over the past 30 years.

  • teeko (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Aberas2529 I agree. The Singer 2nd hand market has found a place where all can see a wonderful presentation and have a chance to own one at the current market price.
    Great job PCARMARKET.

  • GentlemanRacer (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Imthedecidah It takes a lot of courage to design and build one of these things. I did my own redesign commissioned build of a 964 wide body and it took 2 years of planning and another 1.5 years to execute at the level I needed it. Not a Singer, but everything I wanted. Its expensive and very personal. But the journey is the prize. Gorgeous car here! GLWA

  • dcruze 3 years, 3 monthsago

Are the rears tire sizes correct? I put P-Zero 225/50/ZR15 and 345/35/ZR15 on my Fuchs 9x15 and 11x15 wheels. This listing says the rear tire is 265/40/ZR17.

What I love about seeing these cars is their unique personalities. If I had the wherewithal to build one of these beautiful cars I think the actual process of designing the vehicle from soup to nuts would be worth the wait. However, 4 years is a very long time to wait for anything. -- I wonder what will happen to future prices on SVD cars as the 964 donors are becoming rare and extremely expensive - will Singer be forced to move on to another 'classic' series (beyond LWS or Safari)? -- And, if so, will the prices on the 4-500 964-based cars SVD may produce go stratospheric? -- If that's the future case, then something north of a million bucks actually sounds like a bargain.

Singers are beautiful cars Indeed and I love this spec. When Rob first started producing them I spoke to him as I was in the market and as I remember the cost around 250,000. I decided to go with a 997.2 GT3 . Should I have done one,Possibly as the cost now beyond crazy. Now many others producing nice backdates and then you have RUF another way to go. Luckily here I the USA we can purchase the cars Porsche produces out of there Motorsport department which is fantastic. I was able to spec a 991.2 GT3 Touring and for me the dead mans car . Brings back memories of my 1973 Carrera RS “Lightweight “ spec. Unfortunately dealing with most US dealers a joke but here the same in other countries and would think Porsche get involved as the dealers SUCK. Not like when I purchased my first Porsche in 1976 from Vasek Polak and the salesman Burt Ohlander. Good luck with the seller and winner of this beautiful spec and I am sure will go for well over as there seems to many people with so much money it doesn’t matter.
