Introduced in 1989, the 944 S2 was the final evolution of Porsche’s acclaimed water-cooled transaxle sports car and was the first of its kind to be offered in a Cabriolet version. This 1991 Porsche 944 S2 is one of less than 3k Cabriolets sold in the United States during the model’s three-year production run and comes finished in Alpine White over a Midnight Blue interior. It comes equipped with a 5-speed manual transaxle and benefits from a recent timing belt service as well as an upgraded Racing Dynamics performance chip and Speedline-style multipiece wheels. Under the care of its second owner, this 944 S2 is now being offered for auction out of Virginia while showing approximately 66k miles on the odometer.
The redesigned 944 S2 model is distinguishable from its predecessors by a more rounded nose and rear valence borrowed from the 944 Turbo model along with “16 Ventiler” script badges on the front fenders. This example is finished in Alpine White with a blue cabriolet top and features European-style lenses in the front bumper, side markers, and rear taillights. The car rides on a set of aftermarket 18” Speedline-style wheels with Porsche-crested center caps and General G-Max AS-05 Ultra High-Performance All-Season tires. The factory Design 90 wheels are also said to accompany the sale. The seller notes all stone guard decals have been replaced during their ownership and a few rock chips are present on the front end. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Midnight Blue partial leather interior includes power seats, windows, and mirrors as well as air conditioning, a digital clock, and a sound system. The seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional, including the A/C which has been updated to use R134 refrigerant.
This 944 S2 is equipped with a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter inline 4-cylinder 16-valve engine rated at 208 HP and 207 lb.-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. The seller notes a high-flow K&N air filter has been installed along with a Racing Dynamics engine performance chip. All maintenance is said to be up to date including a timing belt service which was completed in July 2022.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, an air pump, a battery charger, and a clean title (lien).

Must be a pretty high reserve that was offered. Compared to recent comps from other auctions and recent sales, this thing already blew every other comp away. She is beautiful and clean but it appears the buyers and sellers do not align on current value to create a new highwater for the market price... There must be asymmetry of information at play!...

I’ve been in and around these cars for the past 25 years; owning 5 of them over the years. This is one of the best examples that I’ve seen! Where did you get the front and rear clear light covers? They look really great!!

@jb944s2 I'm not saying you are hiding anything, but that statement certainly sounds like an excuse and could make people think you are. You are asking people to bid, and possibly be on the hook to buy a car sight unseen. It is your responsibility to make sure they have all the information they need or risk high bidder backing out in the end due to unshown damage. I know it's enough to keep me from bidding.
@Ram3k car sits too low for me to take underside pictures. My friend shop had no lifts available to take pictures. I will take videos once the rain stops. Hopefully you will be the new owner.

@greateye hello the wheels are replica Speedline Style Wheels and yes the stock wheels are included in the sale. The clutch was replaced last February by the previous owner. The paint is all original I also have all stock parts that will come with the car.

@Valor1 the ride quality is fine compared to the 32-year-old stock suspension. The coilovers are fully adjustable. I like the look of the height.

The photos are definitely off color-wise. There seems to be filters, affects, or contrast changes applied to the images.
The blues in particular look too light and too blue with one photo making the (supposed to be) dark blue top look two-tone blue.
Nice car though and good care seems apparent.

Love these cars as the roof line is awesome and funny how they just don't get the recognition that a 911 gets.
That said the pictures look heavily edited color wise? Is the the true look of the white of the car? It look almost like Chalk color? Only white ones I have seen or simple bright white?
@Kato The car has Yellow Speed Racing Coilovers. The wheels are cast replicas. My goal was to keep the car period correct. Thanks for the comments.
