Finished in Grand Prix White, this 1992 Porsche 964 Turbo was purchased new by a woman in the Jura area of Switzerland from the Porsche Center of Bern, previously known as AMAG Porsche Bern in March 1993. It is one of 836 examples produced for markets outside of North America (RoW) during the model year and features a rare black leather interior with Sport Seats and Porsche script cloth inserts. The car remained with its original owner until her passing in 2022 and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Switzerland having covered just over 44k kilometers or 27k miles.

Compared to the contemporary Carrera model, the 964 Turbo features widened bodywork along with a rear spoiler, aero mirrors, and dual exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Grand Prix White are rides on factory 17” Cup Design wheels with optional colored Porsche crest center caps and Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller describes the finish to be in outstanding original condition with all factory labels and tags remaining in place throughout the body. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings.

The cabin is trimmed in black leather including optional Sport Seats with rarely seen Porsche script cloth inserts. The car is equipped with power-operated front seats, automatic air conditioning, a rear window wiper, automatic speed control, a central locking system, a sound system with an aftermarket radio, and an onboard computer with a digital boost gauge. All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly.

The 964 Turbo carried over the turbocharged and intercooled 3.3-liter flat-six engine from the outgoing 930 model, with revisions including a new intake and exhaust system, updated Bosch Motronic programming, a larger turbocharger, and a dual-mass flywheel. A 5-speed G50/52 manual transmission sends as much as 315 HP and 332 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. An extensive collection of records accompanied the sale showing routine service stamps from local marque specialists, and the seller states a full service and 111-point inspection will be completed by an authorized Porsche Classic center prior to delivery for its next owner.

This sale will include a clean title, the original owner’s manuals, and documentation.

Thanks @Porschegstaad. You have provided plenty of evidence of original painted panels (or OEM level replacement panels and paint). One item listed on the CarVertical report was the right headlight. Can you confirm if there are date stamps on the headlights and provide? I'm seriously interested in the car and looking for further corroboration of the simple bumper repaints. Thanks

We will get things straight here as we are not going to let some angry and frustrated bedroom broker jeopardise this car with false information. We have just ran the car on car vertical and indeed it shows that there was some sort of damage which was covered by the insurance at a cost of between 1'500 to 3'000 CHF. Now please explain me what can be seriously damaged and repaired for such a small amount?

Car Vertical has all of its information supplied by insurance companies and this is done on purpose in Europe so that people stop claiming damages with their insurance company. The damage could of been a front bumper and rear bumper respray which for us is not possible to measure the paint as its plastic. We stand by our statement that the metal body work of the car is original and first paint. Even the side fender stickers are yellow from having been on the car for so long. Furthermore the info we have is that the windshield was once changed with insurance due to a stone chip.

We hope this clarifies the statement made by bedroom broker TheGerman.

@TheGerman You seem to know more than anyone and are determine to prove your point. Please enlighten us, we would glad to receive more information. We have put the car on the lift and the car shows absolutely no damages from the underside.

  • TheGerman (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

obviously no one knows how extensive the damages to this Porsche has been. But I am still of the opinion that a Porsche with repaired front and rear damage never has the identical value as an accident-free vehicle. The very fact that Porschegstaad is not willing to withdraw their flawed described offer even after discovering the accident damages is a deception under the circumstances mentioned.

@pcarmarket, just like including a Carfax is the “norm” when auctioning a North American car, maybe you should insist on a carvertical.com report for every ROW vehicle auction. Just a suggestion.

  • Welthstein (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

I actually just converted all of the paint readings from UM to mils which is more commonly used in the US. All
Readings range between just under 3 to just under 6. Seems all factory thresholds to me. For the record I have several 964 and 993 models that are in concours condition and have similar readings.

  • Porschegstaad (seller) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Thank you for your messages and information. The car was purchased from the original owning family that owned the car since its delivery. The car was purchased in 1992 as a new stock from Porsche Bern in Switzerland.

We are very surprised to read the comments of TheGerman, we have checked the Porsche database and this car was never recorded in s crash and as well have enquired the insurance company of the previous owner. We will look more in details for sure.

The paint readings were taken a week ago, there is some slight variation between certain panels due to the materials which is normal, if you measure a brand new 992 911 you will also notice variations between panels.

  • TheGerman (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

    @pcarmarket

I am of the opinion that the indication of false data ("the colour is original and the car was never repainted") and the concealment of a not insignificant accidental damage can only have the consequence to block the seller Porschegstaad in the future and to cancel his current offer.

  • ABD20152 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

Hello, can you explain the meter measurements on the fenders and body panels the readings are all different. Please confirm any paintwork.

  • MezgerTT (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@Tartan43 Thank you. Report definitely shows some damage occurring in Switzerland in 2009. Hopefully, we can get clarification from the owner. Thank you again for the information.

@Tartan43 and @Porschegstaad Can you confirm if this car was in a crash and where we can find that information. Thank you.

  • Scottsala (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@Tartan43 Yeah, all the paperwork says 1991 911 Turbo

  • Tartan43 (registered bidder) 1 year, 2 monthsago

@Porschegstaad respectfully a VIN search shows that this car was in an accident in Oct 2009, both front and back. It must have been repaired and repainted. Also, this is a 1991 MY 911.

So. Don’t fear what you don’t know. Some of the greatest cars are in Europe and can be here very easily. You can hire someone to do it all. May be a bit more expensive with fees and transport but for cars like this…. It’s clearly worth it. Look at those factory seat inserts!! Fear and lack of knowledge stop some of the greatest things from happening. Go for it. This car is just wow. And in 60 days it’ll be in your garage! I’ve done it a few times. GLTA
