It is our pleasure to present this 1992 Porsche 964 Turbo.  One of only 309 U.S. market examples produced for the model year, this 1992 Turbo comes finished in special order Zermatt Silver Metallic over a striking Magenta interior with supple leather seats.  Sold new from the legendary Brumos Porsche dealership in Jacksonville, Florida, this Turbo was first registered in New Jersey and was sold to its second owner in Vermont in 2003 who had sparingly enjoyed the car over the next 17 years.  This beautifully appointed Turbo eventually made its way to Florida in 2020 where it is now being offered for auction with just over 11,500 miles showing on the odometer.

This 964 comes finished in Zermatt Silver Metallic (L92A), a special-order color named for the ski resort town in Switzerland.  Compared to the standard 964 Carrera, the Turbo model features wider fenders, aerodynamic Cup Design mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, and a Tea Tray rear spoiler.  The finish is described to be very well presented and the seller believes areas of the rear quarter panels and roof to have been refinished at some point for cosmetic purposes, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.  This 964 rides on factory Cup wheels measuring 7”x17” in front and 9”x17” in the rear.  These wheels feature colored Porsche center crests and come dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires.

Inside, this Turbo showcases a rare Magenta (TQ) leather interior with optional supple leather seats and an electrically operated sunroof.  Black velour carpets with red Porsche lettering line the footwells and the original Blaupunkt radio remains in place.  Standard equipment includes electrically adjustable seats, power windows, a rear window wiper, and an onboard computer integrated within the central tachometer that displays a trip odometer, outside temperature, and turbo boost pressure.  The seller confirms all gauges and accessories to be working properly.

The 964 Turbo carried over the 3.3L turbocharged flat-six engine from the outgoing 930 model, with updates including a larger turbocharger and intercooler as well as revisions to the exhaust, fueling, and ignition systems.  As much as 320 HP and 332 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50/52 manual transmission while stopping power is handled by fixed 4-piston aluminum brake calipers paired with ventilated and cross-drilled rotors. Based on that of the Carrera 2, the suspension of the 964 Turbo was stiffened, refined, and fitted with 21mm front and 22mm rear anti-roll bars.  The ABS system for the Turbo was also returned for improved performance.  CARFAX shows the last documented service to have been completed by Hoffman Porsche of Connecticut in April of 2020 which included a recharge of the A/C system. Images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.

This sale will include a car cover and a clean title.  Sporting a stunning color combination, this rare low-mileage 1992 Turbo is a true collector's item, do not miss your chance to become the next owner.

Congratulations @PMC. It's a wonderful car, I went to see it yesterday. The interior is very classy, not the bright pink that you see in some pictures. Even my wife liked it. You will enjoy it.

@nosubstitute4porsche I don't think that our guy did. He has done majority of the work for our cars and client's collections, we trust him with all our paint related questions and problems. If he didn't do it, it's because of a reason.

    @nosubstitute4porsche Not a problem.

Looking at it, I can't notice color difference in the panels and distinguishing between the areas. Normally on the repaints I would at least be able to tell what was done but this one I could only tell when the meter was in hand.

@MotorcarGallery @CharlieClarkMCG thank you... the 6.5 on the cowl is definitely factory... the other panels I cannot speak for. My better judgement tells me that if the "paint was put on heavy"there would still be more consistent measurements. I really like this car and it stinks that I could not do my own inspection... regardless thank you for bringing it to Pcar mkt seller

  • MotorcarGallery (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@nosubstitute4porsche Hello, I am answering on behalf of Turn2TC. I cannot send direct messages but I just got the readings for both: Cowl is 6.5 and the sunroof is 12

  • utopify (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Correct - that receipt appears to belong to another car and likely got caught up in the shuffle. Mileage and "4/88" are for a 930 turbo. Not to be confused with this car that indeed appears to have miles/etc.. correctly indicated.

  • MotorcarGallery (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@gclaym This is a mistake on the listing. If you can see the VIN and year indicates a different car.

  • gclaym (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Why does the millage indicate 11k but a repair invoice indicates 28k?

  • nosubstitute4porsche (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Hello seller.. are you able to get me the paint readings on the cowl and the sunroof? I am emailing you the question directly also in case you dont have time to post.. thank you I am very interested or I would not request..

@laurinap As someone who is standing in front of the car, it appears that the new paint protection is the chip guards around in front of the rear wheels as there is no clear bra on the bumper or hood.

  • laurinap (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

@Turn2TC sorry meant Carfax not invoice

  • laurinap (registered bidder) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Invoice states paint protection from 3M applied in 2020. Is that what’s reflected in your meter readings? Is there paint protection film on the car right now?

  • Turn2TC (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Good Morning here Stateside and Good Afternoon in Europe. We are looking forward to an exciting finish of this auction and we are standing by to address any un-answered questions. Obviously the Gorilla in the room here is the paint meter. After over 40 years of buying and selling these types of cars, we are very familiar with paint work. This car has us baffled. Other than the paint meter readings, there are literally zero signs of paint work. No tape lines; no over spray; zero fish-eyes; zero different panel shades. Speaking with numerous experienced Porsche experts, the consensus is 2 scenarios: first is the factory may have laid it on thick. Second, it may have been painted at the Port on arrival. Never the less, unless you walk around with a paint gauge in your pocket (some people actually do!), you will see a nearly perfect car. As mentioned in the first post, you will not be disappointed.

Dear Seller... You have attached paperwork from Bristol Motor Works, Date of Service 9/18/2006 that has listed mileage at 26,861 and the add on PCar states the odometer is at 11k miles. Please explain the discrepancy of mileage between the listing add versus the eminence documentation. Thank you.

@Turn2TC Will this car be parked on Las Olas this Sunday for the show?

  • cobalt 2 years, 5 monthsago

Wow I haven't seen this car in forever. I saw it once back around 1995 and although the interior was not to my taste ( I like black interiors) It seemed less in your face than the pictures show.

The perfect car for someone who wants a unique example. Seems clean and original.

I want to clarify production numbers. After watching the webinar on Pcar market about these it needs to be known that there are far less of these than everyone thinks. Porsche came out in writing in their classic book volume #2 stating that all 964 Vin Numbers both US and RoW start with #061 and that vin numbers 001-060 were test mules and or cars used for other purposes. Although you can't rely 100% on this since there are many cars double counted due to their playing with Vin numbers and 718 coding them changing the MY of some cars. This has lead to some cars being double counted.

For 1992 there were a total of 233 964 turbo's imported to the US and 15 to Canada. Gabriel and Franz's book "Porsche 911 turbo Air-cooled Years" has taken this a step further by breaking down all turbos and is a must read for any enthusiast. Although the original number was thought to be 309 it is actually 309-60-1 which is not accounted for or 248 US spec. 20 of these went to Andial for the Turbo S2 treatment and stand apart from these. So essentially only 213 came to the US for 1992.

I want to also add that the numbers for the 3.6T were way off on the webinar. There were a total of 335 stock US spec 3.6T's imported to the US and 13 to Canada. Then you can add the turbo S cars which also stand alone. Essentially subtract 60 cars from each known source for each MY and you will come close to actual production numbers.

the color combo is fantastic. nice subtle silver exterior and then you open the door... the magenta interior explodes. love it. i was just asking on RL the other day whether a 964 had ever been produced in (PTS) Aubergine. the ideal interior for that would have been Magenta. great looking, very desirable car. glwa.

@JACAemilroma we (MotorcarGallery.com) did a check over on the car here in Fort Lauderdale. I has not been here for very long.

  • Turn2TC (seller) 2 years, 5 monthsago

Good Morning PCar People. Thanks for keeping an eye on this Jewel. For those of you bidding, you will not be disappointed. A couple of things. This beautiful Magenta interior is NOT as purple as the photos seem. It is darker and very elegant with zero flaws. We checked this car over thoroughly before presenting it. It needed nothing. After 36 years in business, very rarely do the stars align and we have such a great example land at our doorstep. We will be happy to answer any questions and be on the lookout for some videos.
