Successor to the Porsche 944, the 968 series was the final evolution of Porsche's two-door front-engine sports car. Finished in Midnight Blue Metallic over Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather upholstery, this 1992 example is one of 2,008 Cabriolet versions produced for North America and only 561 to have been equipped with an optional Tiptronic automatic transaxle. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida with under 49k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Midnight Blue Metallic (F8) with a Dark Blue power-operated convertible soft top. As an early model, it features a recessed front emblem and hand-fitted body panels. This 968 rides on upgraded 18” Cayman S wheels dressed in Cooper front tires and Goodyear rear tires dated from 2021 and 2019 respectively. The cabin is appointed with Cashmere Beige and Black partial leather upholstery. Equipment includes a four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel, a console-mounted analog clock, climate control, power seats, and a central locking system. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
Beneath the bonnet lies a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter inline-four engine with Porsche's VarioCam variable valve timing system. As much as 236 HP and 225 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed Tiptronic automatic transaxle. The seller notes that an oil change was recently carried out and there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.
