In 1983 and 1984, Land Rover unveiled the four-door 110 and two-door 90 models as successors to the Series III, offering a modern interior, permanent four-wheel-drive, and coil spring suspension. In 1990, they evolved into the original Defender, retaining the 110 and 90 designations for door configurations. Imported from South Korea in 2020, this 1993 example is finished in tan over  a black interior and features upgrades such as a black soft top, 16” black-painted wheels, diamond plate bed seat backing, Terrafirma shocks and springs, and an aftermarket air conditioning system. Showing approximately 42k kilometers (~ 26k miles) on the odometer, this Defender is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Arizona.

The truck is finished in tan with a black soft top and features black-painted exterior accents, a folding windshield, and cowl vents. It rides 16” wheels with Cooper Discover STT Pro tires, reportedly in good condition. The seller indicates the presence of scratches and faded paint across the exterior, particularly noting checked paint on the front fenders above the headlights. Additionally, the exterior trim displays scratches and fading, while the passenger door exhibits paint bubbling. There are also scratches and dings present in the bed, along with some wear on the wheels and lug nuts. Comprehensive images are provided in the gallery, accompanied by a CARFAX report.

The interior features black upholstery. Equipment includes a two-spoke steering wheel, power windows, and analog instrumentation. An aftermarket shift knob and air conditioning system have also been installed. The seller reports scratches and worn areas in the interior, cracks in the dashboard plastics, and damage to the metal dashboard frame. The driver's side visor is missing, and corrosion is present on shift levers, dashboard, headliner, pedal pivot points, and engine bay components. Additionally, the windshield wipers are inoperative, and instrument lenses appear opaque.

Power is derived from a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that delivers around 83 HP and 133 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission and a 2-speed transfer case. Solid axles and aftermarket Terrafirma shocks and springs contribute to its off-road capability. Recent maintenance includes the replacement of the top radiator hose and fuel tank in November 2023, along with the clutch and transfer case in April 2023, as noted by the seller.

This sale will include a spare tire, floor mats, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “She is not fast but she drives beautifully. I purchased this Defender in August of 2022. It was originally imported from South Korea. Solid body and zero rust. I replaced the clutch, steering wheel, fuel tank, and power steering pump. I was going to do an engine swap but those plans fell through so I’ve just been enjoying this Rover for shorter trips around town. This is my seventh Land Rover and my second Defender. I love the way it drives. The added A/C is a huge bonus. Many of these aftermarket systems take up a lot of cabin space and leg room, however this unit works incredibly well in a small space. The canvas top is perfect. This Rover would make for the perfect beach cruiser or farm truck. The sky is the limit on what you could do with this foundation. Some may call the color tan, but I believe “pale yellow” is a better description. Feel free to ask any and all questions and good luck!”

Correction* The odometer is 6 digits, not 5. The km’s are accurately represented.

@jmleeney hello, thanks for the question. The top is specific to this soft-top design as a whole unit with the metal roof that provides structure. It’s all one and it’s removable. It would need to come off altogether (with the metal top) but could be done pretty easily. I have never done it so unfortunately I don’t have any pics of this. Once removed you could potentially keep the metal part separate and add a custom full canvas with roll up side panels for the back bed which I’ve seen. There are tie-downs on the bed for just this scenario. To me, I would keep what is there intact as one option and purchase the exact look you’d like separately for a full soft top. If you’re asking can this top be combined with another top, likely no unless you want to remove the metal from this canvas which is possible but likely not the best play in my opinion. I hope this answers your question. Thanks!

Is the soft top just the back panel of the cab in the front or does the entire roof come off? If that is affixed but could be removed and an aftermarket soft top added to make a convertible would be great to know. Also if any pics of the top removed would be great too. Many thanks!

@jayem72 I was able to add a photo of that spot that looks like a hole, it is not a hole, just looks odd in that first photo. Also, the secondary fuel tank does not currently function but is in fine condition. The toggle is likely a wiper bypass (best guess). The rugs are adhered to the floors and I was able to pull up the area near the pedals for a pic… the brown look is a mix of glue residue and Arizona dirt/sand, otherwise it’s solid. No rot.

@jayem72 Thank you for the questions. I see that too. I will get better pics in the morning and try to illustrate a clearer pic. I know the floor under the mats are clean but will definitely get some pics tomorrow. I bought this truck from a dealership who likely bought it in an auction. I was there the first day it was listed. The truck remained with Eurosport here in Phoenix for the first year of my ownership in their warehouse where they took care of the initial inspection, clutch, steering wheel and a couple other odds and ends. My mechanic buddy did the fuel tank and power steering pump over the last few months in preparation for this sale. Originally, Eurosport was going to do an engine swap but they got swamped and I got impatient and wanted to enjoy the truck and also, the market got softer so I lost confidence in an 25k LS swap. That’s as much history as I can speak to. I’ll post those pics tomorrow, thanks again.

@EC808 thank you for the questions. There is an auxiliary fuel tank but I haven’t used it. The primary tank was replaced. I was told the secondary tank was usable however I don’t know how it switches from one to the other(maybe that toggle). The front fill port is the primary. The lever on the floor is the hood latch release and it functions as it should. I’ve asked my mechanic buddy what that toggle is for and will get back to you if he knows, but I’ve never used it. I will also take pics of the floor without mats in the daylight tomorrow. Thanks again!

The second and thrid photos after the tail gate picture show damage to the chassis - a bent outrigger and a hole (?). Is this correct or just the camera angle?
The windows are military style sliders - but he VIN does not indicate that - do you know any more history?
There appears to be rust visible on a plate above the brake pedal - do you have a photo without the carpet in place?

  • EC808 (registered bidder) 2 monthsago

Why does it appear to have two fuel fill ports?
What is the Toggle in center dash for?
Whats the seemingly broken lever that's hitting the floorboard carpet on the passenger side?

Just confirming no rust one vents or floorboards?

  • reallygoodband (seller) 2 monthsago

@jayem72 I believe you are correct however Arizona titled it as a 1993. Not sure why.

  • jayem72 2 monthsago

Is this a 1993 or 1994? The VIN code letter "L" indicates it is a 1994 - can you confirm?

  • reallygoodband (seller) 2 monthsago

    @Thin no, sorry, I don’t have it.
