Up for auction is this well-presented 1993 Porsche 964 RS America finished in Guards Red over a black interior.  Showing 33k original miles on the odometer, this 1993 example stands in excellent condition and is being offered for auction by it's seller in New Jersey.

The Guards Red paint on this RS America is said to be in excellent original condition with the only flaw noted as a slight paint chip near the rear license plate bracket.  Porsche’s iconic whale tail spoiler comes standard on this model as well as RS designations on the center caps, rear quarters and rear deck lid.  This car has been factory equipped with a moonroof and rides on its original 17” alloy wheels which come mounted with Pirelli tires.  Standing out from other 964’s on the road while preserving the classic 911 silhouette, this RS America is sure to garner attention just about anywhere it goes.

Inside, this RS America is equipped with a factory lightweight black interior.  In efforts to save weight, Porsche omitted non-essential components such as power steering, cruise control and rear seats; utilizing flat door panels, door pull straps and cloth covered sport seats.  The result of these strategic weight saving measures resulted in a 77lb lighter car with greatly improved handling capabilities.  This RS America comes factory fitted with a radio as well as a limited slip differential.  This interior is stated to be in like-new condition with fully functional accessories and electronics.  Upon opening the door, it’s clear to see that this is no standard 964, this RS America means business.

Power comes from a 3.6L flat-six engine that sends 247HP to the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed G50 transmission.  0-60 is achieved in a brisk 4.6 seconds while reaching top speeds of over 145mph.  Included service records confirm that this car has always been well-kept and properly maintained.  This car is reported to run and drive excellent, standing in turn-key condition ready for its next owner.

Following the overwhelming success of the 964 RS in Europe, devoted driving enthusiasts in the United States demanded a lightweight, purpose-built 964 model of their own.  Under the guidance of racing legend Vic Elford, Porsche set out to fulfill this overwhelming demand by creating a track oriented, lightweight car based on the Carrera 2, which would be dubbed “RS America”.

Included in the sale of this 964 will be all associated books and documentation as well as the original window sticker and tool kit.  Also included is a clean Carfax report citing no instances of accidents. This car will be accompanied by a clean title. Do not miss out on this impeccably clean and highly original 1993 RS America.

@HelpMeHelpU So what's the story? The ad lacks details about paint, rust, engine condition (compression, leak down, over revs), etc. Why did the car go through a dealer auction? Why did the car sit in a Lambo dealer for a year? I'm interested, but wary.

    First!

This car looks great. Red and black is a perfect Porsche classic. I kick myself for not dropping $40k years back when I browsed Rsamerica.net when that was the going price for these. Perfect stripped down fun around town race car.

I know this car and its owner. A great deal of work was recently done on the car to get it in top shape. It’s a beauty.
