Available for auction is this 1993 Porsche 964 Carrera 2 finished in Black over a black partial leather interior. This 3-owner example retains 27 years of continuous ownership history with years of paperwork included. It has recently been treated to over $30K worth of restoration to ensure excellent cosmetic and mechanical standards. This timeless 1993 example is offered today by its seller in Florida while showing just under 59K-miles on the odometer, accompanied by its original window sticker, its original MSO, a stamped maintenance book factory manuals, tools, keys, original wheels, and a clean title.

A 964 is often regarded as a new 911 with classic looks. This 1993 example externally differentiates itself from earlier 964s by its exterior “aero” design mirrors. The Black paint is said to be very well presented having recently undergone a full paint correction and ceramic spray coating by renowned specialist Eddie Fiuza.  The finish is said to be mostly original except for the newly refinished hood and bumpers, and the passenger-side rear quarter panel which is said to have been refinished and blended under the original ownership for cosmetic purposes.  Cup-style wheels were installed and dressed in new tires in 2019, and a RUF front spoiler lip was recently equipped in 2020 along with a new windshield and various new trim pieces and rubber seals. The original 16” wheels will also accompany the sale.

Inside, this 964’s black partial leather interior is said to be in very nice condition.  Recent refurbishment includes a new rearview mirror, a new center console switch insert, and the repair of a dashboard crack with epoxy skim coat.  At 58k miles, new speedometer gears and light bulbs were installed, and the odometer was set to the same mileage.  The climate control unit was also recently rebuilt with upgraded processors and circuits.  All gauges and accessories are said to be working properly except for the radio, and the air conditioning system has been recently overhauled with a new evaporator, expansion valve, and dryer.

Power comes from an air-cooled 3.6 L flat-six engine, which is tied to a desirable G50 5-speed manual transaxle. 247 HP stock is sent to the rear wheels providing for a 0-60 time of approximately 5 seconds and a top speed of over 160 MPH. A rear muffler “G-pipe” bypass has been applied for enhanced sound, and the original muffler will also be included in the sale. Items addressed recently in 2020 by a Porsche dealership at the hand of a Porsche Classic certified mechanic is outlined below:

@dlb I cannot answer for the previous Doctor owner, his office was only 6 miles from his home. This was not his only car. I do know that he retired and obviously he drove it more recently.

  • dlb (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

So between April 18 and Jan 20, this car did 30,000 North East miles after doing only 5 miles total for the previous 4 years? With the same owner?

  • dlb (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Sorry about that. I just checked the pictures and see said carfax. That's lazy on my part.

  • dlb (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Does the car have a clean car fax supporting the milage in relation to the odometer refresh?

  • FLPcar (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Goldie These wheels are manufactured by Maxilite AG, a European manufacturer of high quality re-creation factory wheels. Of note, the Cup wheel was a factory option on the ‘92 and ‘93 964. They really look great as you can see.

  • Goldie (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@FLPcar are they a recreation set?

  • jaynar 3 years, 3 monthsago

Bid in the amount of $58,000

  • FLPcar (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Goldie Thank you for your question...
These Cup style wheels with new tires were installed by previous owner. The original wheels (with tires) are included in the sale. The Cup style wheels provide a nicer appearance and these style wheels were standard on the factory Porsche RS, RS America and Cup model 964’s.

  • Goldie (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

What is the story with the current set of wheels on the car?

  • BruceM911 3 years, 3 monthsago

I am a good friend of the sellers and I share his passion for these cars. He is a perfectionist and a true Porsche enthusiast. He has spent the last year or so making a great car even better. It is as close to perfect as I would want if I was looking for one. As they say when you buy a car , you are buying the seller. In this case, the seller Is a person that you want to buy a car from. I have personally witnessed the work that was performed at a Porsche dealership by a technician that specializes in classic Porsche’s. This car is stunning and will not disappoint.
I was there when potential bidders looked at it and have even commented below as to its condition. I know this sounds like an endorsement, which it is, but the car deserves it. Good luck with your bidding.

@gunner69 The auction page shows on the bottom “Ends in:”. At this moment it Ends in: 2 Days 15 Hours Thank you for your interest

@SilverSled Thank you for this good information

  • gunner69 (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

when does this auction end? Cannot tell.

  • SilverSled (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@FLPcar This is a very inexpensive fix. North Hollywood turned my ‘86’s around (since sold) in about a week. Roughly $60-80 a gauge and they put new lens is in and brought everything up to speck. The gauge slides out and has two wires connecting it. Very easy DIY or shop assistance to take out and replace. If you’re doing all of them you might want to remove the steering wheel for easier access - again very easy to remove and out back.

  • SilverSled (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@FLPcar Thank you so for checking and Happy New Year!

Saw this 964 in person. It’s a very high quality example. Listing is accurate. Buyer will not be disappointed.

  • FLPcar (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@sjc61 I found a 2007 Rennlist forum discussion on this subject. A very common peeling issue due to the heat from the light bulbs. They recommended NORTH HOLLYWOOD SPEEDOMETER.

  • FLPcar (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@SilverSled I looked under the car this morning and all is dry, the engine and ground. What is in the pics may be spots on my warehouse floor

  • sjc61 3 years, 3 monthsago

Gorgeous 964! And nice to see a '93 exchanging hand. I wish I never sold my Polar Silver Metallic '93 964! I have a question... I am not familiar with the delaminating warning lights in the VDO cluster? What typically causes this issue? And is the only remedy here to have those gauges refurbished by a good VDO technician? Thanks!

  • FLPcar (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@SilverSled I will look at this tomorrow and let you know what I see.

  • SilverSled (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Hi, it’s a beautiful car! If you look at pictures 124 and. 140, there appear to be droplets of something on the ground. Are there any other pictures of the underside of the engine ?

  • FLPcar (seller) 3 years, 3 monthsago

@Goldie The car does not leak, and no I have not done a compression test. It truly runs like a sewing machine.

  • Goldie (registered bidder) 3 years, 3 monthsago

Does the car leak at all? Has it had a compression test?

  • FLPcar (seller) 3 years, 4 monthsago

@Singer2020 Yes. I have enjoyed the entire year refurbishing/restoring it to a like new condition. It is now a spectacular 964

  • Singer2020 (registered bidder) 3 years, 4 monthsago

Was this car at Ryan Friedman before.? Remember seeing this car

  • FLPcar (seller) 3 years, 4 monthsago

Good afternoon to all interested bidders. I wish you all a healthy and Happy New Year.
I have had two PCAR potential bidders visit and look at my 964 and they were very impressed.
It is as nice in person as in pictures. I welcome any questions. Thank you.
