This 1993 Porsche 968 is one of 354 Cabriolets produced for the North American market during the model year and comes finished in Red over a Black partial leather interior. It equips a 6-speed manual transmission, 16” five-spoke wheels, a power-operated soft top, power-adjustable seats, air conditioning, and more. Cared for by a 25-year PCA member and Finger Lakes Region president, this 968 Cabriolet is now being offered for auction out of Florida with approximately 49k miles showing on the odometer.

This 968 is finished in Guards Red with a black convertible soft top and matching boot cover. It features flip-up headlights, integrated fog lights, dual power mirrors, body-colored door handles, and black brake calipers with Porsche lettering. A set of 16” 5-spoke alloy wheels with colored Porsche crests come wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires mounted approximately 3,500 miles ago. The seller notes the paint was treated with a clay bar several years ago with minimal mileage since. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, the cabin offers Black partial leather with power-adjustable front seats, a rear seat delete, and a leather-wrapped four-spoke steering wheel. Other features encompass power windows, automatic climate control, cruise control, an analog quartz clock, a digital temperature display, a locking glovebox, rear storage cubbies, a center console storage compartment, and an aftermarket Jensen VX710 radio unit equipped with navigation. All gauges and electronics are reported to be working properly.

Power is derived from a naturally aspirated 3.0-liter inline-four 16-valve engine, delivering up to 236 HP and 225 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. Braking power is facilitated by Brembo-sourced fixed 4-piston brakes and ventilated discs at all corners. Its suspension system includes aluminum front A-arms and semi-trailing arms, a Macpherson strut setup, anti-lock brakes (ABS), and anti-roll bars. Maintenance history includes clutch master and slave cylinders replacement in May 2019, drive belts replacement in January 2020, replacement of both cab top cable assemblies in June 2020, high-pressure power steering hose replacement in November 2021, and replacement of the timing belt, balance shaft belt, roller/belt tensioners & related seals, and power steering reservoir & supply line in April 2022.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a spare tire, an air pump, a car cover, a sales brochure, a tonneau cover, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “I have been a PCA member for 25 years and past president of the Finger Lakes Region. I owned a Boxster S and three 911s from 2000 to 2020 when I sold my last 911 (a 997.2) with declining use of the car. We moved to Florida in June 2021 and I purchased the 968 in Jan 2022 to meet new friends in SW Florida. Now, nearly 3 years later, we made many new friends on the Pickleball courts and the PCA Everglades Region has become very Naples-centric making attending events more inconvenient. We have only used the car to participate in PCA Region activities and thus only about 500 miles/year.”

Thank you for sharing your 968 experience. I’ve always admired the styling of the 968 as well as the mechanics, enhancements to the transaxle cars (924 & 944) of the 1970’s and 80’s. The naturally aspirated 3.0 L mill with vario cam and a Getrag 6-speed was a winning combination.

I have had 2 968's. Both were Cab's. My 1st was a 92 exactly like this one. Well balanced cars with enough grunt to be fun.........without causing the wrong attention. My 1st one had a top that needed to be operated manually and a clutch that slipped a bit when I got it. I fixed the clutch and that was really all that was needed. It was a nice driver. The 2nd one was a 94 Cab......lower mileage and was grand prix white with blue interior. I replaced some old tires and really that was it. Both were 6 speeds and wonderful cars. I know this doesn't help me in buying, but it needs to be said for everyone.

Thank you for the observation. Two years ago I sold a 2008 BMW 335i convertible and replaced it with a 2019 440i

Gorgeous 968! Just bought a 2006 BMW 330CI ZHP 6-speed, so that, unfortunately, takes me out of being a bidder... Some one is going to get a terrific car! Good luck

Hmmm, thanks for the “heads up” on the window sticker. I did send it to PCM but apparently they did not include it in the listing. I’ll call them and ask the to add it.

I haven’t found any paint blemishes or remediation. No dings but a small scrape in the passenger side rocker panel there are lots of maintenance records and a CarFax report that details much of the replacements after the pics. After I bought the car, I had the timing belt tensioners and related seals replaced.

  • Sanderson1 (registered bidder) 7 months, 2 weeksago

Hi, nicely sorted car. Any dings, paint blemishes, paint remediations? History of engine maintenance such timing belt, etc ?
